1. Oddity Odyssey: A Journey Through New England's Colorful Past by James Chenoweth.2. That Extra Half An Inch by Victoria Beckham.
3. A Cook's Tour by Anthony Bourdain. (a re-read)4. High on Arrival by Mackenzie Phillips. (What a book!)
5. Fashion Inside Out: Daniel V's Guide to How Style Happens from Inspiration to Runway and Beyond by Daniel Vosovic. (Definitely for fashion industry insiders. Not for novices like me.)
9. Catwings by Ursula K. Le Guin.*Reading this was spured on by reading Dear Genius, which is one of my favorite books. Children's books authors and illustrators are prized people, for sure. Has anyone read any of her adult books?
10. Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk. (I forgot to add this one from last week! NOT one of my favorites by Palahniuk.)
i found it really difficult to get into this book because of it being written in the vernacular of the narrator. the story, however, is classic Palahniuk.
Naomi wrote: "i found it really difficult to get into this book because of it being written in the vernacular of the narrator. the story, however, is classic Palahniuk."I am with you, Naomi. It was not what I expected, but it hasn't ruined my view of his writing. I still enjoy his stories, overall.
Ugh! I have GOT to get back on the wagon! Moving surely doesn't have anything to do with it. I need to have #13 done by Tuesday! Here's to getting back on track.
13. The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau.14. Owls: Their natural and Unnatural History by John Sparks.
17. Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk.18. What You Wear Can Change Your Life by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine.
19. What Not To Wear 2: What To Wear For Every Occasion by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine.
The first was a disappointment. The last two were lame reads about 'fashion' that were horrid.
I finished right on time last year when I did this challenge, but I always lag in the summertime! I'll pick it up soon. :)Thanks for the encouragement!
Oh very cool. This is my first time doing it so I'm a little nervous. I was behind but I've been working to catch up this summer.
I'm so behind! I have been doing a lot of reading for work, so I've let my 'fun reading' slip. I vow to read 4 books by the end of this month!
I've been reading, but not updating. Mainly my leisure reading time has been spent reading new cookbooks, so don't give me a hard time. I'm hoping to end 2010 strongly, and read books I haven't had time to pick up.21. The Big Rich: The Rise and Fall of the Greatest Texas Oil Fortunes by Bryan Burrough.
22. The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood.
23. Barefoot Contessa, How Easy is That? by Ina Garten.
24. Barefoot Contessa, Parties! by Ina Garten.
25. Barefoot Contessa, Family Style by Ina Garten.
26. Nigella Christmas by Nigella Lawson.
27. How to Eat by Nigella Lawson.
28. Bouchon by Thomas Keller.
29. The French Laundry Cookbook by Thomas Keller.
31. Food Rules by Michael Pollan.32. The Complete Guide to Boston's Freedom Trail by Charles Bahne.
Work-Required Reading (for the rest of this post - I read it & should be able to count it!)
33. Assessment Primer: Analysing the Community, Identifying Problems and Setting Goals by CADCA.
34.Planning Primer: Developing a Theory of Change, Logic Models and Strategic and Action Plans by CADCA.
35. Capacity Primer: Building Membership, Structure and Leadership by CADCA.
36. Implementation Primer: Putting Your Plan into Action by CADCA.
37.Evaluation Primer: Setting the Context for a Community Anti-Drug Coalition Evaluation by CADCA.
38. Sustainability Primer: Fostering Long-Term Change to Create Drug-Free Communities by CADCA.
39. Cultural Compentence Primer: Incorporating Cultural Competence into Your Comprehensive Plan by CADCA.
Only 11 more to go! Can I do it in a little more than 4 weeks?! I better pick out small books!
