Ash | 212 comments 5. Fashion Inside Out: Daniel V's Guide to How Style Happens from Inspiration to Runway and Beyond by Daniel Vosovic. (Definitely for fashion industry insiders. Not for novices like me.)

message 8: by Ash (new)

Ash | 212 comments 9. Catwings by Ursula K. Le Guin.

*Reading this was spured on by reading Dear Genius, which is one of my favorite books. Children's books authors and illustrators are prized people, for sure. Has anyone read any of her adult books?

Ash | 212 comments 10. Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk.

(I forgot to add this one from last week! NOT one of my favorites by Palahniuk.)

message 10: by Mimi V (new)

Mimi V (naomi_v) | 640 comments i found it really difficult to get into this book because of it being written in the vernacular of the narrator. the story, however, is classic Palahniuk.

I am with you, Naomi. It was not what I expected, but it hasn't ruined my view of his writing. I still enjoy his stories, overall.

Ash | 212 comments 11. The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood.

She's done it again! Loved this book.

message 13: by Ash (new)

Ash | 212 comments 12. The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau.

message 14: by Ash (new)

Ash | 212 comments Ugh! I have GOT to get back on the wagon! Moving surely doesn't have anything to do with it. I need to have #13 done by Tuesday!

Here's to getting back on track.

message 15: by Ash (new)

Ash | 212 comments 13. The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau.
14. Owls: Their natural and Unnatural History by John Sparks.

message 19: by Ash (new)

18. What You Wear Can Change Your Life by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine.
19. What Not To Wear 2: What To Wear For Every Occasion by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine.

The first was a disappointment. The last two were lame reads about 'fashion' that were horrid.

Thanks for the encouragement!

message 23: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Oh very cool. This is my first time doing it so I'm a little nervous. I was behind but I've been working to catch up this summer.

message 24: by Ash (new)

Ash | 212 comments I'm so behind! I have been doing a lot of reading for work, so I've let my 'fun reading' slip. I vow to read 4 books by the end of this month!

message 25: by Ash (new)

Ash | 212 comments I've been reading, but not updating. Mainly my leisure reading time has been spent reading new cookbooks, so don't give me a hard time. I'm hoping to end 2010 strongly, and read books I haven't had time to pick up.

21. The Big Rich: The Rise and Fall of the Greatest Texas Oil Fortunes by Bryan Burrough.
22. The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood.
23. Barefoot Contessa, How Easy is That? by Ina Garten.
