I love humor in romance and life.Any book that can engage me to the point that I'm laughing out loud and reading quickly just to see what's next becomes one of my keepers.

I know what you mean Loni.
I find things funny in a book that the next person might not find funny. The same thing goes with TV shows or a movie.

Funny line, Arch. I love a good, wry sense of humor. Any book that keeps me laughing really gets brownie points.
I am a very humorous person so I love humor. In fact, I can't stand to be around folks without a sense of humor. I can't understand how you cannot have a sense of humor! How can you not love to laugh and enjoy funny things. I love all types of humor except I don't care for gross out humor or toilet humor which unfortunately has taken over comedy these days. I find that kind of humor more crude than funny. The only ones I tolerate gross out humor from is Cheech and Chong because I LOOVE Cheech and Chong films. Wonder why they broke up the team.
But yes I love to laugh and make others laugh as well. Everyone says I would make a good comedienne. (Is that how you spell it for women?) LOL!
Best Wishes!

I really dislike toilet humor. Yuck. I agree, it's painful to be around people with NO sense of humor.
I don't like scatalogical or toilet humor either, or gag humor, really. I prefer clever, unexpected humor, in general.

It is a movie that stars Ben Stiller, Tea Leoni, Patricia Arquette, Josh Brolin to name a few. Talk about clever and unexpected humor. Funny, funny movie and it does it in unexpected ways.
Hmm, I'm kinda leery of Stiller. He relies prettily heavily on gags (not that I blame him, seeing as that's the currency of most comedies, LOL).
I have a soft spot for Ben Stiller. I love his kind of silly. Even the terrible Zoolander can give me the giggles.Flirting with Disaster is a David O. Russell movie. I have found him clever and quirky (loved Three Kings!) I think his writing in the film doesn't allow for Stiller to be Ben Stiller. Actually Stiller's the straight man more or less in this movie. Other actors, especially Mary Tyler Moore, Alan Alda, Josh Brolin and Lily Tomlin get the best lines.
Well, that sounds good, and it looks like it's available on Netflix streaming. I'll check it out. Thanks for the rec, Tina! :)
Yes. Excellent movie. I love the Coens. I often threaten to R-U-N-N-O-F-T when the husband and kids get on my last nerves.

I want to share something that was said in Killer Dreams by Iris Johansen.
The heroine's son, Michael is talking with Laird MacDuff. Laird MacDuff wants to boy to come outside at night to play soccer. He tells the boy that the ground is flat. Note: Michael is 10 years old.
Michael: "What if I kick the ball off the cliff into the sea."
MacDuff: MacDuff headed for the door. "Why, I pitch you over after it. What else?"
When I've read that, it made me laugh.
