Which is your favorite trilogy?

message 2: by jenjn79 (new)

jenjn79 | 290 comments Mod
Mine is definitely Three Sisters Island. I love that series.

But I also really enjoy the Dream trilogy, and the Chesapeake Bay Saga.

message 3: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 6 comments I really enjoy the Key trilogy :)

message 4: by Miss Kim (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) I like most of them, but my favorites are The Garden and the Chesapeake Bay Saga. I couldn't put down any of those and I tore through them.

Three Sisters trilogy were my first Nora books. That's when I became hooked!

message 5: by Gina (new)

Gina (ginrobi) | 40 comments Such an unfair question, LOL! How on earth am I supposed to put them in order?

I'll give it my best shot, though...

1) Circle Trilogy
2) Garden Trilogy
3) The Donovan Legacy
4) Gallaghers Trilogy
5) and I can't decide which to put next...

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

I think my first series was either the Born in series or the Dream series.

I love the Three Sisters trilogy and re-read it often. That may be my favorite. I also love:

The Circle trilogy
In the Garden trilogy
Born in trilogy
Gallaghers trilogy

message 7: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 3 comments Three sisters or the Dream trilogy.

message 8: by Kathrynn (new)

Kathrynn I'm starting The Circle Trilogy now with Morrigans Cross. I didn't realize it was a time-travel. Are the rest in this trilogy time travel?

message 9: by Miss Kim (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) Kathrynn, those books are all very closely related. The main plot carries through all of them. I did like Morrigan's Cross best out of that set.

message 10: by Toni (new)

Toni | 6 comments favorite trilogy? I love them all, but I think my favorite is the Gallaghers trilogy, followed by the Chesapeake Bay saga.

message 11: by Mindi (new)

Mindi (scrappinmindi) | 4 comments I fell in love with the MacGreggors

message 12: by Toni (new)

Toni | 6 comments The first book I read was the Fall of Shane McKade, and I was hooked. I went to the library and found and read the rest of the series, and I was a Nora Roberts series fan for life.

message 13: by Paula (new)

Paula (paulainauckland) Mine would be Three Sisters, closely followed by In The Garden. I like the family connections - I think the links make the real difference between Nora's writing and other authors.

message 14: by jenjn79 (new)

jenjn79 | 290 comments Mod
Paula, I agree with you about Nora's writing standing out when it comes to family connections. I love the way she writes families.

message 15: by Teryl (new)

Teryl All time favorite trilogy would have to be The Chesapeake Bay series. Love the Quinns!

After that, in or particular order, The Circle Trilogy, The Gallaghers, and the Key Trilogy.

message 16: by jenjn79 (new)

jenjn79 | 290 comments Mod
The Quinn books are great. I love the first book, and Seth's as well. They're on my list of Nora books to reread sometime soon.

message 17: by Miss Kim (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) The Quinn books-Cheaspeake Bay--are on the top of my 'love nora' list. I loved Cam's and Seth's story's the best, Philip's the least. However all four kept me busy for about 2 weeks!

message 18: by Emily (new)

Emily (imabrooks2) | 81 comments I love the Chesapeake Bay series. I get new NR Books all the time and thought I have not read a ton of her books yet I love them, but I keep going back to the quinns. I think I even fell a little in love with Ethan. I also love the Gallagher series and the key series, but absolute favorite is the Quinns

message 19: by Dana (new)

Dana The Gallagher Trilogy. Hands down. They were the first NR books I ever read.

message 20: by Deborah (new)

Deborah My favorite is the Chesapeake Bay series. I loved her writings from a "male" perspective.

message 21: by Deborah (new)

Deborah The Gallagher Trilogy is a great one also. I have read them twice. I am such a avid fan that I have read her trilogies at least twice each

message 22: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 41 comments I loved the In the Garden Trilogy. I thorougly enjoyed every book and read them in about two nights apiece. Of course, this was before i had children, so that doesn't happen that much anymore.

message 23: by April (new)

April (aprilc) | 5 comments My very first Nora Roberts trilogy was the Dream Trilogy. So that stands out as my favorite, but I have to say that I really like them all. I read them as they come out. I could never wait and read an entire trilogy in order. I am just not that patient!
Happy Reading,
April

message 24: by Sherry (new)

Sherry | 4 comments My Favorite is the Born in Trilogy. I have always wanted to travel to Ireland. In this story I feel like almost have.I love the story of the sisters how they face hard times,But meeting men like they do isn't to hard... I read these about once a year. I bought these on Audio books Now I put voices as i read them.

2) Cheaspeake Bay
3) Tears
4)Gallaghers
I have enjoyed reading allher series. I am looking forward to reading the new one Sign of Seven. I have to wait until they all come out before i start. I heard her next one is "Visions in White" it sound like a good one. It's going to be four books and a long wait...

message 25: by Miss Kim (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) I liked the 'Born in" a lot too. The second one was my favorite. I think Born in Ice...

My of my dreams is to trave to Ireland. The way Nora writes of it sounds beautiful.

message 26: by Sherry (new)

Sherry (wstridgerunner) Mine would have to be the "Key" or "Three Sisters", I don't know what kind of magic NR used while writing those two trilogy's but they seem to pull at me LOL. Of course if asked again 6 months down the road, I'll probably pick a different trilogy,:) the reason being I think they are all pretty awesome.

message 27: by Teryl (new)

Teryl "The second one was my favorite. I think Born in Ice..."

Ooh, I just loved Grayson!! Of course Murphy and Rogan were great too :)

message 28: by Deb (new)

Deb (dlboyer) My favorite trilogy is the Circle Trilogy. I normally don't like these types of stories (those involving myths and such), but I really loved this trilogy.

message 29: by Gina (new)

Gina (ginrobi) | 40 comments Debbie, who was your fave character in the Circle trilogy?

message 30: by Miss Kim (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) I'm butting here, but my favorite couple of The Circle Trilogy was the first one in Morrigan's cross. I want to say the woman's name was Glenda..? But I liked the second one's story better--with the dragons.

message 31: by Deb (new)

Deb (dlboyer) Gina wrote: "Debbie, who was your fave character in the Circle trilogy?"

Moira and Cian for sure. Nothing like a forbidden romance or atleast a mismatched one to get the juices flowing!

Debbie

message 32: by Rose (new)

Rose My favorite would definitely be the Born In trilogy. I think it was the first trilogy I read by her. I bring it out and read at least one of the books in the trilogy once a year.

message 33: by Gina (new)

Gina (ginrobi) | 40 comments I agree, Debbie. I let out such a happy sigh when he goes back in time to be with her... *sigh*

message 34: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 7 comments My two favourite trilogies were the circle trilogy and the Chesapeake Bay Saga. Both awesome collections of books. Although I loved all of her trilogies so it was hard to decide.

message 35: by Ally (new)

Ally | 8 comments The first one I read was the Circle Trilogy. But I love the Three Sisters and the Key Trilogy I read them about 3 times a year. But I also really enjoyed In the Garden and Signs of Seven Trilogy and I'm looking forward to her new 2009 series Wedding.

message 36: by Gina (new)

Gina (ginrobi) | 40 comments So am I! I can't wait for the "wedding" series to see what they're like and what she has in store for her characters as well as her readers.

message 37: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cheryllaflammegmailcom) | 7 comments I am excited! I was at my favorite bookstore and got 7 Hardback books of Nora Roberts/J.D.Robb for $8.00. I thought that was pretty good. I can't help myself sometines. They have a cool idea. They group books in a bag, by author or genre. What ever is not sold they have this group that picks them up to send to the Troops!.We recently had fires up here in NO. California and the firefighters were camped here for a quite a while. I was amazed to hear how many were coming in and picking up romance novels. I was pleasntly surprised.

message 38: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahcb1208) What? No MacGregors fans? Wow!!
That's my favorite series :)

message 39: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cheryllaflammegmailcom) | 7 comments Sarah, I enjoyed the MacGregors as well, although I find I have not read all in the series, something else must have caught my eye in between the books.I need to pick up the others. I enjoyed the Born in Triology as well.

message 40: by Teryl (new)

Teryl I don't think of the MacGregors of a trilogy, more of a series.

message 41: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahcb1208) Teryl wrote: "I don't think of the MacGregors of a trilogy, more of a series."

*smacks forehead*
I have no idea how I got stupid and missed that, LOL.

message 42: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cheryllaflammegmailcom) | 7 comments I knew it wasn't a triology. I just had to say I like them as well!

message 43: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cheryllaflammegmailcom) | 7 comments Oh see, I never took it as thinking Ireland was backwards. I have always had the feeling of warmth and closer knit families and just a charm about the country. I know all countries have harsh realities, but I have always been interested in Ireland and hope one day to go. The countryside must be beautiful. I understand there are some very old dwellings.I would love to see. Never though thought less of the people or country.

message 44: by Miss Kim (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) I agree with Cheryl. The stories endeared Ireland to me as a close knit family and community. I never saw it as backwards.

message 45: by Teryl (new)

Teryl It is more like she is romanticizing the country, or at least that is how I take her books based in Ireland (6 of them). I never once thought she protrayed Ireland as backwards.

I loved Aiden in that book.

message 46: by jenjn79 (new)

jenjn79 | 290 comments Mod
I agree with the others. I never saw it as her degrading the country. I just saw it as her focusing on a small part - a quaint little village. I didn't take that place to be representative as all of Ireland.

And if I remember right, she based Ardmore on a real village that she visited. Plus I also believe she has a home in Ireland she visits a lot.

message 47: by Gina (new)

Gina (ginrobi) | 40 comments I thought the way she wrote about Ireland was one of the best parts of the story! I never took Ireland to be backward; I felt it actually brought me closer to the characters, to the land. I think the red hair comment was made for giggles - honestly, it's the same as people asking/saying the amount of blonds there are in California and Florida. It wasn't taken seriously - at least, I didn't. And of course not everyone is bright, cheerful and friendly. I say the same thing about where I live, how everyone is so nice, but it's not completely true. For every 20 people I meet, one out of the bunch is bound to be rude and/or obnoxious.

I'm sorry, Littlemissmuffet, that you took it so close to heart. I hope it won't turn you away from Nora's novels, especially all three in the trilogy. They are beautiful stories.

message 48: by Sherry (new)

Sherry (wstridgerunner) I enjoyed the way she wrote about Ireland, the rural social aspect of that trilogy reminded me a lot of where I'm from, West Virginia. And I understand your feelings, I've read some fictional works with my state in the setting, some of them were SOOOOO wrong with the living conditions, well, I could have just slapped someone. But I didn't get any negative feelings from the Gallagher series, just an appreciation of another culture who enjoys living the rural life.

message 49: by Amar (new)

Amar | 134 comments Just finished Entranced of the Donovan trilogy...loved it. Sebastian and Mel were a great couple, esp. loved Mel's cynical attitude toward magic/witchcraft...exactly I would react!

re: Ireland impressions in her book, I too was charmed by the small town feel she presented...my husband is from a small town in England and I swear it is so much like that...everyone knows each other, there are beautiful farms, gorgeous countryside, friendly people, etc.

I cannot wait to go to Ireland one day!

message 50: by Amar (new)

Amar | 134 comments Just started reading the Dream trilogy...pretty good so far. Like Margo and Josh together in the first one.
