Kim - no need to apologize, life happens - post when you can, sorry I have not been contributing - a lot going on here too! Hang in there!
Kim, have you started your exercise program? Haven't heard you talk about it lately. Hope it's going well!
Not yet. The Y's can only handle 1,900 people at a time, and 10,000 people have registered county wide. Aaron and I were told that we would get a call around March. At this time, I can use the break. If I had to worry about when I would be working out along with all the other stuff going on, well, I might just end up with next to my aunt.
My aunt is undergoing open heart surgery tomorrow to repair 2 leaky valves, have 3-4 by-passes,and something I can't pronounce or spell. She is 78.
Sorry, I didn't update! My aunt is home now, and she is much better. My grandma is also doing well, and is home and driving again. I have been so wrapped up in this new excerise thing that I forgot to tell y'all what was going on! Oy-vey!
Sorry for the confusion, but no I'm not a teen. I am very much an adult. I am 36 if that makes any difference. I hope it doesn't.
Don't worry about it. People come and go in activity. I haven't been exactly baking up a storm lately. It's been too hot.
I will be making cookies soon. My mom asked me to make her some to take one of the people at the bank who has been really helpful. The kids who live next door to me have been bugging me like crazy to help me bake cookies (which while I don't mind kids, my kitchen is barely big enough for one person). I am going to make a recipe I found in a Joanne Fluke book that has Kool-Aid powder in them. I'll give some to the kids next door and a copy of the recipe so they can help their mother instead.
I just wanted to make sure the kids didn't pass out until they could have them again.
The cookies are really good by the way. You can make them with any flavor of the unsweetened Kool-Aid envelopes. I made mine with the Blue Raspberry Lemonade.

Why? Is she afraid you'll dye your hair with it? (You can by the way, use Koo-Aid to safely dye your hair. I was all the rage when I was in High School.)

I just finished a book call 'Absolutely Maybe' by Lisa Yee whose main character dyed her hair with Kool-Aid. First time I'd ever heard of it.
I have the recipe somewhere for the proportions of water to unsweetened mix. It lasts for a few days, won't damage your hair and hey,no toxic chemicals in the environment!
Kool aid hair dye gives best results to color light hair. But if you have dark hair, you can still use Kool aid and still get the color you want, but with a little less effectiveness. It’s very easy to color your hair with Kool aid. All you have to do is follow few simple steps and you are all set with a brand new color for your hair.
One important tip while using Kool aid hair dye is to use the unsweetened packets. Avoid using the sweetened or the artificial sweetened ones as they’ll make your hair sticky. You can also mix and match different Kool aid flavors to get new colors. For instance; a packet of Berry Blue and Lemon Lime each will give you an interesting turquoise shade.
Similarly you can get and electrifying blue shade by mixing Blue Raspberry with a little grape flavor. Also the number of packets used depends on the thickness and length of your hair. So use accordingly.
The first step before you dye your hair with Kool aid is to spread some petroleum jelly on your skin; especially ears so that the color comes off easily if it falls on your skin. Not take the flavors of your choice and mix them. You can also use a single flavor. Now add very little water to the powder. Make a paste, do not make it liquid or else it won’t stick to your hair.
You can also add a little conditioner to the mixture so that the color spreads evenly on your hair and it also helps in making a smooth paste. Now mix all these ingredients well till you get a smooth paste without any lumps.
Now spread this mixture into your hair. Its better if you take help as this can get messy if you try doing it yourself. Use gloves to prevent coloring your hands. Massage the hair and not the scalp. You can also do tips or highlights using Kool aid but you’ll have to use highlighting wand and wrap the highlighted section in tin foil.
Once you’ve done dyeing your hair with Kool aid hair dye, wrap the hair with sandwich wraps or tin foils. Secure it with tapes so that it remains tight and the moisture doesn’t evaporate. This will also keep you from getting color all over your furniture and floor.
Now keep it overnight and have a good night sleep. Remove the wrap and wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. The color on your skin will wash off easily so don’t worry about that. Comb your hair and wait for it to dry.

It was VERY popular in the early 1990's when I was in high school for the very reason that is cheap and does no damage.
My great-aunt Bootsie (real name Ruth)passed away on Saturday. She had bypass surgery last year(as mentioned previously in this thread) and just seemed to have problems off and on since. She evidently developed MERSA and went into hospice. She was just Aunt Bootsie to me. (We don't stand on formality in my family.) She was my maternal grandma's sister in-law, and her husband, Chucky, was just as funny as she was. Between the 2 of them, I learned more creative swears than I could have ever come up with on my own.
They had 3 girls and 2 boys, the most children of any of my grandmas siblings. For my mom, she was the cool aunt when she was growing up. My aunt was 79.
So the next time any of you enjoy a beer, please think of my aunt, and toast her for me.

I have been very bad and not posting here. I have had a lot going on and I got sidetracked by the classes I am taking. Sorry!. I am working on some new recipes and hope to post a few before the holiday's get here, including my newest invention, chocolate caramel filled cookies.

I will try to be more on-top of things as we go, and I again am sorry that I have not been posting as much as I should. Please bear with me and my slowness.
