This is my favorite genre at the moment. I am currently reading Death's Mistress by Karen Chance. She is one of my favorite authors in this genre. Some of my other favorite authors are: J.R. Ward, Jeaniene Frost, Karen Marie Moning, Larissa Ione, Nalini Singh, and Marjorie Liu.
Just picked up Beautiful Creatures and City of Ashes.
I have never read a paranormal book before. Once again, I'll have to go out of my comfort zone and read one. See how I like it.
I'm curious as well. There are plenty of good paranormal books out there. They are not all good but they can be fun reads.
I reading
by Rachel Vincent and I'm loving it. Werecats instead of werewolves. A totally different concept but so much fun.

One of my favorite paranormal authors is Sherrilyn Kenyon. She always seems to have the best believeable charcters in her book.Even though its paranormal romance she puts an equal amount of action, suspense, and makes good sense. she doesn't just focus mostly on the romance party like some other authors that i read. *Smiles*
I love her writing as well. I have a topic for her under authors. Have you read Born of Night? LOVED IT!
Love paranormal books, I started reading them like some while go (used to read fantasy)I can say I don't really have a comfort zone. I like the supernatural (paranormal), fantasy, crime, mystery, realistic-fiction, chick-lit and lots more.
It's good being flexible (lol)
I like being flexible as well. Usually if it is recommended then I'll give it a shot.
I decided to try a vampire series, and I picked out Sookie Stackhouse. I didn't finish the book. Would The Host be a good one? That's paranormal, isn't it?
Yeah, I read Born of Night, Born of Fire,Born of ice, and i can't wait to read the next book fire and ice.It was wonderful! I read the books over and over agian.
Oh, I do recommend Born of Night. It isn't vampire but it does have some pretty yummy assassins in the series. Kenyon mixes fantasy, sci-fi, and witty banter together. I really enjoyed them. :) I've only read the first Sookie Stackhouse and I have not picked up the host yet.

I have read Dead until Dark. I enjoyed it but I haven't had time to move on in the series, at least not yet?
That is good to know. =) Sometimes I hate having so many books I want to get read. It seems that I never get to them but I it is wonderful to never have a point in time when I can shrug my shoulders and say I have nothing to read.
Catamorandi wrote: "I have never read a paranormal book before. Once again, I'll have to go out of my comfort zone and read one. Though I haven't read it I've been urged by others to-read Shiver. Maybe that's another one you could try it. Oh and you probably read these if you love fantasy but books from Tamora Pierce are awesome. They have some of the best female protagonist in the fantasy genre.
Charmed is like the perfect paranormal book series, and show actually. It's about three witches and they're sisters, the fight demons, warlocks, you name it. And it shows normal sisterly activity.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Shiver (wouldn't recommend it) let me know what you think if you ever get to it.
Amber wrote: "Is anyone else a fan of the Mercedes Thompson series by Patrica Briggs? "I think that series is great! But I have to admit, I like the Alpha & Omega series by Briggs better. I adore Charles, and really like to read how Anna's character is changing after all of the abuse she had in Chicago. Anna and Mercy are such different types of women, but both are strong in their own ways.
I like both but I like the Mercedes Thompson series better because it takes place in my home town. Just makes it even more fun for me.
I just read a Chick Lit paranormal book taht I loved...called Truly, Madly by Heather Webber (goodreads author). There's a sequel coming out too...the main character Lucy has the ability to find lost objects...not people...just objects...it's very interesting how she uses it to solve mysteries...and the rest of her family has the ability to matchmake (Lucy lost her ability to matchmake when she was little and got an electric shock from an outlet or something like that...ever since she has her own unique skill...the lost object finder)..Its a quick fun read:
I love the Sookie books. I've been reading them since the first one came out. Another suggestion--altho more UF than PN is the Harry Dresden series.
I have long been a fan of Briggs, and in addition to both Mercy and Anna and their stories I have her other works.
Might I also suggest the Victory Nelson series (book # 1 Blood Price ) and the follow up trilogy Smoke and Shadows being the first. The first is actually more of a mystery series with paranormal elements (a vampire historical romance writer--don't you just LOVE that idea?) while the second is UF.
I have you read the Anita Blake series? Do you like Sookie better?
I have one of those long lists as well. I probably should of named this group

when I hear paranormal I think more of ghosts and such as apose to vampires. I think the closest I came in my own personal defination of a paranormal book would be The Host and I really liked that book. The mortal Instuments series is defiately my fav but I think of it as fantasy instead of paranormal. i actually realy love watching shows on the paranormal. I watch Ghost hunters with TAPS all the time.
Paranormal Romance and Fantasy are the best kind of reads I love to read. There are so many good books out there but after reading J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood Series, I haven't found another series to top it.Don't get me wrong because some series come pretty close, for example Charlaine Harris's "True Blood" Series is an excelent series, along with Gena Showalters "Lords of the underworld" Series, Alyssa Day's "Atlantis" Series, etc...
I think my next series to buy will be Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Dark Hunter" Series or Kresley Cole's "Immortals After Dark" Series.
My wish list has grown so fast in these last couple of months.
@ Ronda. I'm reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's series right now. I love it. I read Fantasy Lover, the prequel and I'm on the official first book. I love it.
@ Carla. I'll add SuperNatural to the Title.

I love it..."I've been checking out amazon and ebay trying to find Fantasy Lover in Hardcover to add to my library but I don't want to pay 50 dollars for it. I think my husband would think I was crazy if I spent that much money on a book - LOL so I guess I will end up buying it in paperback because I really want to read this series.
I didn't realize how expensive some of these books could get - LOL - for example, when I first started looking into the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward, I try to find the first book Dark Lover in hardcover and I found it all right but they wanted 200 dollars for it, so I said forget that, I bought the paperbacks but I would love to own the hardcovers one day.
I really liked What-the-Dickens: The Story of a Rogue Tooth Fairy. It's funny, it's a very light and easy read, and What-the-Dickens is just so lovable!
I'm not really a buyer. What i do own is all mismatched from 2nd hand stores and yard sales. I def would never spend 200 on a book even if it was my favorite and had the authors signature in it.
LOL. My great aunt does that but she still ends up buying a book she didn't read.
LOL Rachel, I thought about doing that a couple of times. I have been just sticking with buying books used on amazon and ebay and sometimes I buy just from a regular book store but I have never paid over 12 dollars for a book (hardcover). Since I want to read Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Dark Hunters" Series so bad, I am going to break down and buy the softcover.
Finished Night Pleasures and it was defiantly a pleasure to read. Picking up the next in the series today.
I started the 3rd in the Dark Hunter Series today. Enjoying it so far. One of the side characters from Night Pleasure is the main character of this book, Talon.
I have a feeling this book will be a bit off for me. My middle son's name is Talon.
