Because she is always getting captured and having a gun put to her head. She went from being a fantastically self-sufficient heroine to damsel-in-distress faster than you can say Rapunzel. It just bugs me.
you know I think it kind of is the other way around. Independet, dependent then independent again. I mean, she loves Sawyer, then she left him, (which I still don't understand) and she may be an easy target, but thats because Jack loves her, so Ben is obviously going to use her as a pawn.

Locke's death would be unexpected and dramatic, also we could have him as a psycho-ghost, traumatizing, even further, all of the habitants of the island. He could be the dark force of the island, and go into a bloody killing spree ... ok I got to lay off the horror books!
