Mary came down from the riggings, glaring at the sun that shone brightly in her face. She grabbed her bucket and began scrubbing the deck, waiting for breakfest.

"Mary, Mary." someone said,"Ye missed a spot." he spit on the wood. It was Derrick. She stood, getting right in his face and holding a pistol to his chest. "Do ye have a problem with me mopping?" he stepped back a step.

"I didn't think so." she glared.

"Sigh. Settle down now, children." Fae Shwan's voice cut through the air like glass. She was aboard the Black Gem as a guest. She never would have gotten aboard, but they DID help her when she needed help urgently.

Mary glared at Fae,"I am not a child." she said, putting her pistol back.

Hok kala stared across the see towards Port Royal, his greatest buyers lived at that port. He was excited as ever to be gaining more money from his "unsuspecting" customers. He leaned against the Decks railing smiling contentedly to himself. Then his foster father Krail kala slapped him on the back with a wide grin, "are you ready to gain more money my son? I can smell it! A grand sale this shall be indeed!"

"That may be so," started Fae, "but that does NOT give you the right to start fights." She could hear Derrick snickering behind her. "And that goes for you as well, MR. Derrick. I wouldn't want to have to report the the captain about this. I already KNOW what he would do to you. And I expect BOTH of you to treat me with both the respect I deserve as a captain, and using my name." Fae kept rattling on. "I go by Tressica now, not Fae. And I expect you-"-Pointing at the both of them-"to remember that. I am I clear?"

Mary bowed her head,"Aye Ma'm." she looked at her boots.

Derrick frowned,"Aye-aye."

Fae smiled. "It's fine, dear. I shouldn't have gone off like that. I get a little carried away when I rant." She giggled. "No need to get so frightened! I'm, what, two years younger than you are? No need to get so shaken up! Forgive and forget? She extended her hand to Mary.

Mary smiled, shaking it,"Aye, forgive and forget." she shot a glare at Derrick who rolled his eyes,"But, ye are older then that codfish there." she jutted her chin toward Derrick.

At this fae laughed. "I'd say that this part is true indeed." She laughed again. "Oh, sorry about how I carry my speech out. That old codger of a foster father, Ex-Captain Tres Highland, was from a land called 'America,' which I've never even seen listed on a map. He had a very strange way of things on the ship..."

Hok kala sat on the deck and waited patiently for the ship to roll into dock, He looked across the waters'today' he thought 'Will be a good day indeed!'.
Half an hour or so the ship pulled into dock and he set off down the gangplank with his wares in tow behind him. He looked to his left and noticed the name of the ship The Black Gem... why did that sound familear? He would find out later, for now it was time to sell to ever wanting customers!

She nodded,"Ye speech is confusing at times I say." she pulled her hand away.

Derrick leaned against the railing, watching them both.

"The Cap'n has yet to give a heading, any clue where in the blooming we may be heading?" Mary said.

"No idea, says I." Fae turned around to see her vice-captain, Sheir Kan, approaching. But wherever is may be, I hope we get there bloody fast."

Just then Fae spotted something from the corner of her eye. A merchant(?) ship was sailing through the waters. The side read 'High Tailed Swan.' The name sounded familiar to her, but she ignored it.

Mary glanced up at the colors they were flying, fake colors. She nodded to herself,"Excuse me, my Cap'n has a job for I." she backed up, punching Derrick in the shoulder then headed toward the captian's quarters for the list of items she was to buy. Shopping, just hang me now. She thought to herself, getting the list after the Cap'n nodded at her entry. She began for the door, reading over the list being as she was one of the only crew members that could read and write.

Hok kala strutted through the street patrons about him shout out "rubys, gems, exotic items of all kinds right here at the High Tailed Swans post of wonders, right here you'll find swords from far off lands that no matter how hard you swing will never break. YOU good sir come and see my fine products I think you there would like some of these olives plucked from the very plantso n which they grow in Italy. How about you madam would you like some fine broaches I have here, straight from the exotic tribes of the west indes themselves!" hok kala could spend hours doing this and he always captivated one person or another. he smiled broad and held up many items stolen from other vessles and towns across the seven seas. As the day wore on he grew tired, today was not as well as he had hoped but all the same he haggled with a few well placed patrons. He took few breaks to let his foster father try his own ways of selling.

Mary had made three trips to the ship by now, carrying things there and coming back with more shillings. She leaned against a pole, tired and bored now. She looked about the market...was that a hat? She moved through the crowd and looked at it. Not half bad, she tried it. It was a dark brown hat, pointed into three tips. She payed the mercant and walked away before he could try to sell her anything useless; but as she moved out of the way of someone she bumped into a man.((hok kala))

Hok kala spun about in suprise as a young lass bumped into him. He put on a broad grin and said in his best manly voice " Why hello there m'am are you all right? May I be of assistance? That hat your sporting is lovely on ye may I show you one that would look raveshing on you more so then that little thing? Trust me it will have all the men gawking in no time, right this way if you will?" He looked at her with a smile that always flustered the women and always got them doing as he bid.

Great, a mercent...She couldn't look away though,"Uh..." she scrambled for an excuse,"I have but no shillings left, otherwise I would take you up on ye offer." she forced herself to look down at her boots.

He smiled, it was working at bit more talking and she would be his all the same! "well how about a bit of haggeling? Say... that hat and your pretty little earings for anything of your choosing except those things I find to be to high priced for those even?" he kept on the grin and put her chin in his palm, he pushed her head up slowly carefully, he was weaving his tricks on wooing women to get her to yield.

Look away, Mary. Look away. Don't ye smile...She smiled at him,"Show me what ye have."

He laughed then a full bellow! It worked as always for all the women only one had ever been resiliant...Fae Shwan... he then stopped laughing but kept his smile. He wouldnt want to frighten this lassie off. "So where are ye staying m'am? If ye dont mind me askin' but if a pretty little lady like you hasn o where to go you can come back here we will be here all day." He put his arm around her shoulders and led her off to the wares and exotic items. He proffered a few select items." How would these do if I may ask?" His grin neevr left his face the entire time.

She ignored his question; look around then leave, the captian's wouldn't like it if she was late. She looked at the items, nothing except for the gem encrested with gems. She smiled,"How much for that?" she pointed to it, holding her sleeve over her wrist so he couldn't see the pirate band.

He smiled again, " that is worth... 100 shillings, but for ye I can make it worth that hat of yers and a little kiss for me to remember your beauty." He kept the grin on and held the gem before her, he knew the kiss might have been a bit much but for how much it was truly worth she couldnt refuse, or so he hoped!

"Is that so, a kiss and the hat?" she smiled a little wider,"'tis a fine item, and the offer isn't one likily to turn down. I'll take it." she Took her hat off and put it in his hand, taking the gem. She slid it in her pouch, moved closer and kissed his cheek.

" Well wait now! just were do ye think yer goin so fast lassie! let us have a real kiss now" he kept the grin and slid the hat onto the desk behind him.

"Nay, because that'd be two not one." she smiled, crossing her Arms.

"... I believe forthat fair price I offered ye one canno hurt?" He was losing and he knew it. He keptthe grin as best he could but it was a chore now at best.

"I paid already." she knew her smile had gotten a little bigger and more devious.

Hok kala cursed silently "well then if that is how your going to be at least give me the whereabouts of your abode? Where do ye stay? This is incase I find something that might interest ye"

"I am currently staying aboard the Black Gem." she said, tracing a peice of leather with her index finger,"Now, where be ye staying?"

" Well cut me loose and call me mary, My fathers ship be docked across from yers. She is known as the High Tailed Swan. I shall pay ye a visit soon enough. how long do ye plan on staying within these here docks?"

( I got to go for now its been fun, I will tyr and be on later)

"Just over night. And you may call me Mary." she looked at him, with curiousity burning in her unnatural violet eyes.

"Oi, Mary; let's go!!" Fae was standing at the docks waving at Mary.

"We need to get movin', Lass!" Shier Kan, of course, as standing behind Fae. Shier Kan held Fae's hand tightly in hers(did I mention the two were a couple?). "We're loosin' daylight!"

Mary looked over at the captian, frowning,"Alas, I must go. Thank ye." she curtsied.

Fae looked at Mary, a small smile touching at the side of her mouth. Mary was such a lucky girl. She had looks, family, everything Fae dreamed of and wanted for he own.

((she doesn't have any family....))

Hok kala smiled and yelled down to her as she raced off " We shall meet again I hope!" As he watched her go he noticed something odd... the women she strode of with had a familear look about her... Fae?.... no it couldnt be he laughed to himself see things he though. he turned and strode back to his booth and continued on with his buisness, today had been interesting indeed!

Mary stopped in front of Fae,"Ye called for me?"

((YAY!! okay, so.

Mary and Derrrick got into a little squabble, but Captian Fae fixed it. Then Mary went to the docks and filled up on supply. She bought a hat and the traded that and a kiss for a gem which she is going to haggle off when she can. Fae called her back from talking with Hok Kala, who sold her the gem.))

"By the looks of it," started Fae, "I'd say you were rather enjoying yourself. Sorry about calling you back. Captain's orders."

Fae looked back behind her. "Mary, who was that gent you were rambling with?" 'No way,' Fae thought. 'Is that.....Hok Kal?!'

Mary shrugged,"Didnt catch his name. Ye know em?" she asked, head tilted as she watched her expression flicker.

Fae came out of her trance. "Huh? Oh, no." She said. "It's nothing....." Her eyes went cloudy.

(I dont know why but the whole mystery with my charrie and Fae just makes me smile, I am giddy today haha)

Hok kala went on for a good hour longer then he and the others decided to pack up for the day. A good diner would end a good day. Hok's father came up and slapped him on the back "so son who be that little lassie o' yers thar?" He made a face to look like he would peck him on the cheek but Hok smiled and slapped him on the head, "she was just a paying customer like all o' the others, pay you no mind to the way I be doing my deals got et?." Hok's father just took a step back hands up in surrender" dont be taking no offense now ya hear, I was just messing aroun." They both headed back to the ship with all the money and what little they had left of their wares. Hok kala looked up at the ship, read the name, and decided, "oi I am goin for a looksee up on yonder ship. One customer told me she be stayin thar, I be back in a jiffie." he waved to his foster father then walked back the docks to get a look at the familear ship.

(I put this a tad to the future of your guys so incase I dont reply soon, I will be busy later so I have no idea when I can reply but have fun with what I put in! :) )

Fae leaned over the rail of the ship, taking in the smell of the fresh sea air. It really was nice to be free.
Free.
Not stuck back in that forest where she was left for dead.
Free.
Where she could make her own choices and honor her foster father with her name.

Mary sat in the riggings, watching the sun on the horizan. It was her favorite part of being with the sea...the sea...the only place she felt she belonged.

Mary glanced around at the dock, couldn't they just leave? She looked at a small flurry of three or four people, who were they dragging now?

She peered closer...Ari? Great. She slid down the rigging, grabbing her sword and running down the gangplank.

She got closer, knowing she would either make a fool of herself or she would be obayed..."Halt, what are you doing with our Cabin Boy?" she asked sternly.
