My name is Stephanie, I am 27 yrs old with 4 kids in total (not all of them are mine)! I enjoy reading urban fantasy, Paranormal Romance and YA books. I'm trying to expand my reading genre into other mystery and other fiction. I don't have a lot of time for reading so I try to sneak it in whenever I can.

Hey everyone, I was never a big reader untill recently, maybe a year ago, I got started on the sookie books through my mother-in-law,I wanted to read them because (truthfully) I am addicted to the show true blood on HBO. ☺♥ Anyhoo, that got me into the paranormal and vampire books, my mother-in-law loves them, she calls it vampire porn.☺ She has more interest in the romance novels than I, I think I have an eclectic taste. I read the vampire chronicles (anne rice) when I was in my teens, and got into Stephen King. Besides that I was never a big reader. My mom is, she introduced me to King and Rice, but when she brought out Tolkien I just could not get into it. I liked the movies, but the books just seemed to be to much then, maybe I should try again. Sometimes I need to get away from the vampire porn and the paranormal and try to read other things, I like Mary Kay Andrews her books are about strong southern women that get nocked down and get right back up. She also throws in some antiques and old homes for fun. She also puts yummy recipes in the back of all her books. I still always go back to the paranomal and my wonderfull world of vampires in the long run.♥

Welcome Hannah. I use to only read historical fiction and non-fiction, with a few classics thrown in. It was the Sookie Stackhouse books that got me addicted as well. Before them and Twilight I had always just assumed vampires equaled horror, and I'm a wimp when it comes to reading horror. Now, I've become obsessive with all things paranormal.
Books are like crack to me. I actually start to shake if I don't have one on me. It's rather sad. =)

I am looking forward to reading with you guys and I have to say I agree with you Heather I feel lost if I dont have my book on me! I bring it everywhere..

Hi, my name is Darcy, and I read most anything, but especially paranormal and UF, YA books, with mysteries, sci-fi, romances, thrillers, and spy novels too. I usually will give a book 50 pages and if it doesn't suck me in I give it up. There are just too many good books out there to keep reading something you don't like. I look forward to chatting with everyone.

I'm Nicole - 27, married for 4 years (almost) with no kids yet.

I love to read, but sometimes run out of time for it. I try really hard to keep reading in my life (ideally more than tv watching). I do a lot of driving and tend to listen to light audiobooks (I did the whole Sookie Stackhouse and Artemis Fowl series' that way) in the car in addition to my Dave Ramsey podcasts. As far as actual books go, I try to keep a mix between light reading (love historical fiction by Lauren Willig and Philippa Gregory), popular fiction that comes highly recommended, classics, and personal growth/business books.

It's hard work not to get stuck in one category for too long, but I really try to maintain a balance. And I try to never have more than 1 fiction and 1 non-fiction book in progress at once!

I'm Christy, mom to three, married for almost 12 years. I've always read, but with three kids, I didn't have a lot of time to. Now that my kids are in school, I get to read a lot more. :)

I am a fan of YA books, and most general fiction. I'm doing a 100 book challenge this year, and I'm so excited about it!

Hi, my name is Paula. I've been reading UF and the like for about 3 years now. I also like mysteries and gerneral fiction. There are UF mysteries out there (Harry Dresden). I'll give any book a chance until it makes me want to throw said book at the wall! I then know I need to close the book. That doesn't happen often. Thank you for inviting me.

Hi Paula! Thanks for joining us. I wish I could throw books at the wall, but I'm too worried about bending the edges. I throw my cell phone instead. You'd think I'd be more protective of the phone than the book. =)

My name is Patty, Im 19 and I love to read. Recently i have been reading alot of the fantacy type books. Right now Im reading the 4th installment of the vampire chronicles by Ann Rice, and Im also reading Winter girls by Laurie Halse Anderson. So far I really like them.
I try my best to keep updating what I ahve been reading, but lately (as in the past 5 months) my schedule has been CRAZY. but i do my best.

Hi Patty. Don't worry. Just write when you can. I went from being so busy I only read 2 books in a 6 month period to reading one almost every day. You'll have to let me know how Wintergirls ends up. It's on my tbr list.

Hi! My name is Lisa. I read anything except romance. I've just recently started read a lot of YA and Paranormal. I like Vampire books, but I find myself straying towards Witches more. I've read 4 or 5 of The Women of the Otherworld series and found I like the Witches stories more. Also The Hollows series is great.

I love the Women of the Otherworld. I like Elaina. It took me the first witch book to get use to the new perspective. After that I loved them. I'm in the middle of the Hallows. They're a lot of fun.

Hello everyone, My name is Annabel, I read anything and everything! I do tend to lean towards Fantasy and Romance but I really want to broaden my horizon so recommendations are very much welcome.

If you want to try something different I'd highly recommend The Hunger Games (I'm not sure if that counts as "fantasy" or not. . .it's set in the future but the characters are all human.) Also, The Book Thief is one of my all time favorites, and it has nothing to do with Fantasy. I usually read Fantasy and Romance too, but something about The Book Thief made me fall in love!

I have other recommendations too, but I don't want to pile a lot on you, LOL. If you want more feel free to ask. :)

Lol, tea is the greatest - I just had my sister put the kettle on for me - it always goes great with a book.

My brother recommend me the hunger games; Ive ordered it, Im going to start reading it after my exams that finish next week. can't wait!!!
Ive heard of the Book thief, Im definitely going to give it a go!!!

Hi everyone! My name is Jen... I'm 28 w/a husband, 4 kids (10, 6, 3 & 1) & a 1yr old black lab. As you can guess, my life is pretty hectic which is why I love to read. It's my little escape from reality. =) I mostly read YA, fantasy, paranormal romance & some realistic fiction. I love joining book groups since I'm always on the look out for new books.

My name is Hillarie, I am 27 years old and read pretty much anything... I am about to move from sunny CA to hot GA... we'll see how it goes!

Hi Hillie! You're forgetting the sticky part of GA. In Lakeside we'd get 100 degree weather, but out here 85 and humid is harder to handle.
Are you moving the pup too?

Yup, we're both moving out on Sunday... I am trying to pretend that GA won't be hot (yes I know I'm lying to myself).

The good thing about Knoxville is that just when you're ready to want to scream because the humidity and heat is getting so bad a storm blows through and cools everything down. Then you have 6-48 hours of wonderful weather. Hopefully you'll get it too.

It sounds like we get rain pretty much every day around the same time, so that will help cool it down (or so I hope). Other than that... I am sure it will be quite a change!

Hillarie! With the exception of this last winter - RAIN is quite a change. Even once a month...
