If you were to make a list of 3 1/2 do's and 3 1/2 don'ts what would they be? I'll go ahead and start :O)
DO: 1. Know that you can submit a proposal to a publisher or distributor before you've even written the book. That's what's fun about non-fiction! 2. Create a book cover "dummy" and take a picture of it to post online. You can do this before you've written the book so that you can start promoting it. Many non-fiction books are written in a short length of time after the research has been done. And promotions, press releases and galleys go out three to four months in advance of publication. So you need that visual! 3. Start asking for testimonials or endorsements from professionals on the subject of your book 3 1/2. Take a break every hour or so. Stretch. Call a friend.
DON'T: 1. Listen to the negative self-talk in yo' head 2. Throw away your rough drafts 3. Forget to back up your work :O) 3 1/2. Neglect your friends
