Definitely worth a reread! I swear I still think about this story a couple times a week. I'm having a "come dressed as your favorite fictional character" birthday party in a few weeks and I ALMOST choose to dress up as Katniss.
@Jennifer Katniss would be a great costume. What did you choose instead then?@nicolemichele I'm pretty Pro-Peeta, but I just re-read the first one. Let me re-read Catching Fire and I'll possibly go back to Pro-Gale again...lol
Well, my favorite fictional character is probably Elizabeth Bennett (or Edward Cullen :) ), but I don't have the energy to go find an appropriate costume for Lizzy. Sooo, I'm dressing up as Sookie Stackhouse. I do adore Sookie, but she is not near the top of my fav characters. BUT, I recently colored my hair blond and with my bouncy curls I have a remarkable resemblance to her. !
I got the House of Night series for my birthday this past weekend! It'll be awhile before I can start them, but I'm curious to see if you liked them.
ehh...? I kinda like them, enough to continue reading them. Kinda immature sometimes, the main character is very innocent, 16 years old, and makes it a point to not curse a lot so there are sentences like "I thought she was full of poopy", which break the flow and sound so strange. And its inconsistent, sometimes its a big deal to curse and other times its whatever, so that makes it flow even less. I've read the first three, and while I'd enjoy knowing what happens its definitely not a series I HAVE to finish.
Oh, buzz kill. A character in "Hush, Hush" (a book I REALLY wanted to like) throw out the highly descriptive word of "poopy", too, and I never recovered from my cringe. Total turn-off. Darn it! Another friend got me the first "Vampire Academy" book, too. Have you read that?
Nah. I can only handle so much teenage vampy angst. I need to compensate with historical fiction for a few books after I read these. Let me know, though, if they are decent I'll add them to the list.
