Eli sat at the park bench watching her little sister as she played on the swings.

Alex was sitting at the top of a tree, watching the people down below.

Eli looked around the park then stopped when she spotted a guy in a tree.

Alex was playing with a squirrl that lived in the tree. He had come to the tree often enough, that the squirrl trusted him not to harm it.

Eli got up from the bench and scoped the tree.

Alex lovd the tree. He had been climbing it since he was 10. He had seen kids teasing others. Couples making out. Parents fighting when their kids weren't looking. And no body had ever been the wiser.

Eli told her sister to stay put and then went and climbed the tree, but not trying to be seen.

Alex heard rustling of the branches, but thought nothing of it, thinking it as just a bird or something.

Eli stopped moving and positioned herself on a branch and watched the mysterious boy.

Alex layed back on a branch, completely in his element.

Eli decided to break the silence, "Hello!" she said aloud. A few birds flew away.

Alex jumped and fell, just catching himself on a branch, hanging there.

Eli covered her mouth shocked, "I'm so sorry...so very sorry." she said climbing down from the tree.

Alex, slowly, slipped down the tree, "It's ok." he said. "I just wasn't expecting anybody to be up there." he said.

"Okay, sorry...again." she said backing away.

Alex looked at her thoughtfully. "What where you doing up there anyway?" he asked.

"Um... I was just trying to see what was so fascinating that you were up there?" she admitted.

"Oh, the animals are cool." Alex said.

"Animals? In the tree?" she was fascinated, "Really?"

Alex nodded, "Yeah, squirrls, brirds."

She laughed, "Oh...those animals. By the way my name's Eli." she said.

Alex noded. "Alex." he said.

"Nice to meet you." she smiled sticking out her hand for him to shake.

Alex shook her hand, "You too." he said.

((He's a vamp. I just made him up, like right now, so...))

"So, who are you here with?" she asked taking her hand back.

Alex shrugged, "No one." he said.

((Is she a werewolf like the charrie thing says?))

((yup, sure.))

"Oh, well I'm here taking care of my little sister." she said pointing towards her little sister who was playing on the swings.

Alex nodded, "Do you guys own a dog?" he asked. She had a distinctly dogish smell.

"Um...no." she said backing away slowly, "When I know you better I'll tell you something I've never told to many people. So what do you say?" she asked, "Want to go out sometime?"

Alex thought. He hated dogs. They were overenergetic, and smelled. She smelled like that. But after a minute of thought he smiled, and said, "Sure."

"Great," she said, "We'll meet here and have a date tomorrow?" she asked. "I'll bring the food!" she encouraged.

Alex nodded, "I'll bring...something. I'll have to think about it." he said, smiling.

"Okay." she nodded, "Well think about and get back to me soon." she handed him a folded paper and walked off.

Alex opened the paper, and smiled, then put it in his pocket as he re-climbed the tree.

Eli went to get her sister and then they walked home. She looked over her shoulder once and noticed he was back in the tree. She turned back around and smiled to herself.

Alex layed in the tree and thought about what he was going to do about the awful dog smell. He figured the only thing he could do was ignore it.

Eli finally reached home and her sister ran up to her room. Eli sat on the couch and watched some tv.

Alex walked to his house, and read a book.

Eli thought about Alex, He seems rather different than most humans...like the way he jumps from a tree, it's almost with no effort. But...it's probably nothing. she went to the kitchen to eat a sandwich.

Alex got on the computer. He had to IM his freind, Alissa, about what had happened.

Eli thought some more, And how could he sense my dog smell...he must have a very strong nose. I mean normal humans can hardly detect it. Unless....but maybe not.

I met a girl today.

Finally!

Oh, shut up. We are meeting at the park. What should I bring?

Eli decided to go play with her sister.
"Hey, Eli!" she said as Eli went into her room.
"Hey, Ali. What you doing?"
"Playing with my dolls."
"That's nice." she had a grin on her face.
"What's funny?"
"What?"
"Why are you smiling? Is something funny."
"No...I'm just thinking."
"Thinking is funny?"
Eli laughed at her sisters innocence. "No, I'm thinking about someone."
"Oh okay," she returned to playing with her dolls, she knew nothing about love, yet!

What about...a ball.

A ball?

Yeah, we have to have something to do right?

Maybe...

Eli left her sister to play with her dolls.

Well, it's the only idea I have.

Fine then, I guess you should bring your ball.

Eli thought about calling Alex but realized she didn't have his number. She was sad about not getting it.

Alex logged off, and called Eli. He waited for her to pick up.

Eli picked up the phone, "Hello?" she said.

"Eli? It's Alex." Alex said.
