Carolyn wrote: "I read this very quickly and really enjoyed it!"It is a fast read, the pages just fly by. Very readable storytelling. It's last year's winner of the Tiptree prize for writing about gender issues in the fantasy/sci-fi genres. This year's winners were just announced last week:Cloud & Ashes: Three Winter's Tales by Greer Gilman and Ooku: The Inner Chamber, Volume 3 by Fumi Yoshinaga. From the blurbs written on them at the tiptree award site (www.tiptree.org) these two don't appear to be very readable at all, what with descriptions like "dense" and "paradoxical." But "The Knife of Never Lettig Go" was a real whirlwind and a joy to read, though very unsettling.
I just got this on digital loan from the library and thought I remembered it had been a group read at some point! I'll come post my thoughts on the old thread when I finish it :)
