You're making me hungry, man.Our UU church has "first Sunday lunch." Esp. after my first son was born, and we were really busy, I would look forward to first Sunday lunch as the best food I would have all week...all vegetarian salads, soups, etc.
If anyone read the book for the month, Hearing the Voice of the Lord, post what you learned and felt was inspiring here. Even if you didn't read, you could post experiences and such that relate to the books and topics people have written about.
Maybe I should make a category for good potluck dishes. If anyone posts any (in this thread, or general, etc.) I'll start one.But first I have to go get something to eat :)
Oh my stars, I loovoe potuluck bounty. I think people always try their hardest and produce the yummerest food to bring to share with their people at Church. Also, I've done this, and I know a lot of other people have too: when I find something especially amazing, I take the recipe home and continue to share the love with other groups. I have a turkey quiche with stuffing crust that I always bring. It was designed to be a day after Thanksgiving quiche, but it's fantastic year-round. (I just made myself drool)
HORSES but you know that.. thats my favorite thing to do! thats why I joined your website..and it ROCKS....um...what else...um..not much other than that..lol...reading and doing stuff i guess...lol!

Sally's little slice of heaven quiche:(adopted from the Colorado Cache cookbook)
1 6-oz package chicken stuffing (or about 5 cups leftover stuffing)
1 c chopped, cooked turkey
1 c shredded Swiss cheese
4 eggs, beaten
1 5 1/2 oz can evaporated milk
1/2 t black pepper
(6 servings)
Prepare stuffing mix. Press stuffing into greased 9" pie plate or quiche pan, forming a crust.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. In small bowl, combine turkey and Swiss cheese; set side.
In separate bowl, beat eggs,
milk and pepper. Sprinkle turkey and cheese mixture over hot crust. Pour egg mixture over turkey. Lower oven temperature to 350 degrees. Bake quiche for 30-35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Let quiche stand 10 minutes before serving.
Sally, the phrases you use make me giggle. You're hilarious, woman!!! Loller coaster? Yummerest? soooo funny...
Then Im gonna kick you out..grrrrrrrrrrr....lol (I cant really do that cuz this isnt my group its Ash's.LOL)
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
What. I thought that you were my friend ash :( What if I want you to kick him out ^.^ lol
Sally, I'm trying it tomorrow night. As for potluck dinners, our church also has fifth Sunday dinner on the grounds. The array of food astounds me every time. Of course, evil lurks in an entirely separate section designated especially for desserts. I guess we should rename it the "Hellserts" section. ;-P
How is this book coming along? I haven't acquired it yet. Any good tips you are learning? (We can all use a little insperation, right?)
