I think she's hit the age where she's either going to have to make a decision to continue living or she's going to "sleep" herself to death. In Bone Crossed she did finally seem to be waking up and aware of what was going on around her, at least enough to take steps to try to bring her Seethe back under control. I did NOT like what she did to Stefan, but I can see someone of her age viewing it as necessary to maintain her power.
I think sanity is definitely an issue when you are as old as she is. I think her lust for power is compromising her "rational" thought processes.
I think she's a great character, but I hate her. I am so glad that I am not one of her vamps. She reminds me of a past evil boss. That was bad enough.
I think another part of Marsilia problem is--she doesn't want to be where she IS. She wants to "return home" and views where she is as a punishment. Which is part of why she wanted more power, so that she could force her way back home. I think that that unhappiness is at least half of her emotional problems, altho I also don't think she sees that. That said--I miss my Stefan. (sniff, sniff) hoping we see more of him in the next Mercy book.
The reason she pale and angry 24/7 is cause she does drugs. Bloodly fruitloop she is, off her rocker. Where's my mobile ah here....(dialing).........yeah blade, gotta problem.......old one like dusty......yeah she badass......yeah she.....cool cool....and do edward cullen to I pay you a bonus.......sweet bye.
