I'm having quite a problem with facebook and need some help. I had a personal account, but was told that I couldn't have a fan page on that account--I needed to created a page that stood alone. And so I created a fan page with no profile but still kept my private page. Now the thing has gone postal, locked me out of my regular page and whent I changed my password it said that I am reactivating my account. I think it's trying to fit the two together. I just promoted the fan page on twitter, and have people who are trying to join but they can't. If anyone if facebook savvy, I would greatly appreciate any guidance. I'm swimming in a sea of ignorance, and I'm starting to drown!

This is a weird problem that shouldn't have occurred. The way it usually works is this. You have a personal account and then, while you're logged in, you create a Page. This way you own that Fan Page.
what I would recommend - if it is possible - is to delete the fan page. Then go to your private account - try to retrieve/reset your password if you problems logging in. Once you are logged into your account, once again create a Page from scratch. You can use the same name as before and it can be the same name as your own name/personal account.
I hope this helps.

However, when I went to facebook.username to get a smaller url for the fan page, facebook gave me only one choice, and now only the personal page has a smaller url, and it won't permit me to apply for another, in spite of the fact that I have two pages with the same name. I don't want to start my fan page all over again from scratch, since I already have well over 100 fans, but is there a way I can add to the fan page name? Like my name with the word, author? Or something like that?
From what I understand, no, it is not possible to rename a page. Many of the most basic features are not at all supported by Facebook unfortunately. I'm having a Jason Dark Group for example that I'd like to switch into a Fan Page instead, but Facebook doesn't let me do that either. It is truly ridiculous and a sad testament to Facebook's technical side.

Hi Elizabeth! I too, am having trouble navigating Face Book. I some how got on Twitter, where I was able to start posting blogs. For some reason which is beyond minimal computer expertise, things pop up that say, 'Click here!' I do 'click' while holding my breath with worry about crashing my system. I don't know how I did it, but my blogs show up on at least three community sites. Here is my question...How do I get people to follow my blogs, especially if I don't know how to tell anyone how to find them?
I copied the URL but that does not work for me. My blog name on Twitter is Malika's Secrets. The blog is the Secrets of the Unwritten Book.
I am longing for the day when I can offer some inteligent advise from my own expertise. For now, all I seem to do is ask questions and try to pat someone on the back when I like what they have accomplished.
A big thank you to all those seasoned authors who are willing to be so kind as to share. Malika

If your goal is to sell a product online, ignore the negativity from the media about Facebook. Perhaps, if you hate Facebook, it’s time to change your attitude. With nearly 500 million Facebook users, how can you afford NOT to be there?
Do you want to sell more books?
Today, Facebook is my #1 social media site on the net. Every morning I post links about marketing tips, new reviews and interviews. Included, I post updated social status information about my personal life. Short, snappy notes, keep my followers up to date and interested.
>FACT – 41% of American households have a FACEBOOK account. Nearly, 500 MILLION users!<
How do I direct my viewers from Facebook back to my site where my books are sold? (Click the link above to read more...)

Facebook can be a tricky site to get used to. The hardest part about it is trying to get people to view your posts. Facebook has weird algorithms and most of them benefit Facebook themselves. If you want your posts to be seen by everyone then they want you to pay although I'll state that at no time should you pay to boost a post. If your going to pay Facebook for anything it should be for ads.For a more detailed explanation on Facebook algorithms: http://jbienvenue.webs.com/apps/blog/...
