When Darkness Falls discussion

Ok maybe I am crazy. It is a possiblty. In fact it is maybe even highly likely. But I feel like I might be right and maybe someone else has some prespective that I missed. Ok in "To Light A Candle" Vestakia and Kellen go in to the Caverns previously occupied by the Shadowed Elves and Vestakia communicates with the Crystal Spiders and Vestakia has trouble understanding them. She talks about it being harder than she thought. However, in the 3rd book, "When Darkness Falls", Kellen introduces her as if this is the first time they met... is this a mistake? I din't notice it on my first read through a million years ago when it came out,

Well I didn't get out of bed to look up the passage in the book, so its quite possible I'm wrong. But I think Vestakia talked to crystal spiders in multiple caves, possibly he was introducing her to a new group?

Yeah, I saw that. I got confused, too. I have no idea if it's a mistake, a re-telling of a past event, or my own misunderstanding. I just shrugged and kept reading. It was a good story despite that bit.
