I liked Body of Evidence but loved most of her earlier books. There were a few books like blowfly where I felt like she was just going through the routine of writing the series but it feels with her last few books she has got back to basics again.
Melissa wrote: "i loved all her earlier stuff but the best one would be from potters field"There are just too many to choose from - I think they're all very good. I do have a problem though that I HAVE to read the books in order, so since I've not been able to get hold of a couple of titles, I still prefer the older to the newer books...
Clare, I'm the same way! And I read them out of order once by accident and it really messed the story line up!

I can't decide, every one of them is special to me, so I can't say I have a favorite one, I love them all. I do have a favorite quote: The dead have never bothered me. It's the living that I fear.
It's from Postmortem.
Hi Ivana, great quote! We should start a separate thread with favorite passages and quotes. I have a few too!
:) great idea, Nicole, how come we haven't thought of that sooner? I too have couple of more, but this is my first favorite quote, if you can say it like that
I added the thread Ivana. Please add your "first" favorite quote when you have a chance! Thank you!
I just finished listening to the audio book version of "Red Mist". I rate this book as "so-so". I have read (or listened to) all of Cornwell's Scarpetta series. While this one isn't up there with her earlier works, it is better than some of the more recent ones. I didn't care for the narrator in this audible.com version. The story was OK, but I think that Cornwell needs to work more on the personality of the more mature Scarpetta. Also, while I have liked her stories, I never have cared for the elitist, upper class snobbery which Cornwell has seemed to convey. However, as long as she continues with the Scarpetta series, I will continue to read or listen to them. This book certainly was not one of my favorites, but I am glad I "read" it.
I'm still getting caught up but I heard that Red Mist is a must-read before The Bone Bed as something significant happens. A friend of mine grabbed The Bone Bed at the airport and dove in. Whoops! She completed spaced that she hadn't read Red Mist. Lesson learned!
My first would be point of origin. It's what got me hooked to these series. :)I was in second year high school then in our local library. :)
And another one comes out in November! I need to take a vacation dedicated to catching up on these books. I probably wouldn't sleep cause I'd be super creeped out and get through them all pretty quick. HA!
