Finished Ash a couple nights ago and wanted to add to Tuesday night's discussion even though I'm late. I still hold to my comment that the textural descriptions in the book were well done - I could hear the snow crunch, smell the richness of the woodland and see the vivid or subtle colors of the clothing and accessories. But I kept wanting stronger sustained emotion or at least a building up to a more intense climax. What anger, passion, sadness, etc. there was, seemed perpetually subdued or at best, uneven. Maybe it works better with its younger audience. And I couldn't stop thinking "Edward Cullen" every time tall, handsome Sidhean, with his cold, white, handsome face and body that unnaturally drew you to him showed up at night in the forest.
