pam (heidigirl5) | 18 comments just got done reading plain perfect i thought it was really good. is this like a series do you need to read the books in order.

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I've not read any of these books yet so I'm not sure if they need to be read in order. Perhaps if you read the synopsis you can figure out if they're about different characters or not?

Ooh, thanks for that, I'd seen a picture of it but forgot to add it here. Will do that now :)

I suggest reading them in order if at all possible.

Diane U (djuseless) I just wanted to share a wonderful experience I had last night with Beth Wiseman.

I was waiting for the winner of her Christmas giveaway to see if I won any autographed books that I could add to my mother's collection of autographed books for Christmas. Unfortunately, I did not win. So while I was looking on Beth's blog, blog.bethwiseman.net , I noticed that she would send out signed bookplates if you ask. So I went out to Amazon and bought my mother Seek Me with All Your Heart and An Amish Gathering: Life in Lancaster County. I emailed Beth asking her for two bookplates and if I could get them before Christmas so that I could attach them to the books. She responded right away and graciously offered to get them out. That was so sweet of her! I even offered to send her a special package in return but she told me not to bother that she would be more than happy to do so. I am going to send her something anyways, just for being so nice.

In case you are wondering, here are the autographed books that I bought my mom for Christmas:

An Amish Gathering: Life in Lancaster County
Seek Me with All Your Heart
A Simple Amish Christmas
A Time to Love and
Never Far from Home

I won the last two books from contests from Amish Heart and Vannetta Chapman's blog. I hope she is as excited about receiving them as I am for giving them!

Just finished Plain Proposal. I think that you could read that book without reading the others in the series, but the first few in the series really need to be read in order especially book one and two. I thikn in book 5 a lot of the characters have moved onto her new Colordao series so it starts to focus on other people within the Amish community and their family that is left in Paradise.

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I didn't know the two series were linked. I got Seek Me with All Your Heart from BookSneeze a while back. Will it be difficult to read without having read the Daughters of Promise books?

You might be okay, but there are a lot of other things that happen in the other series that set up them moving to Colorado that are important.
