I am currently reading Moon Sworn and have loved the Riley Jenson series from book 1. I have the 2 Ripple Creek books but haven't read them or any of her others yet altho I have had them all on my TBR list for a long time! I do have book 1 in Myth and Magic and plan on reading that soon!
I have read the first 5 books of the Riley Jenson series and they have been great and I look forward to finishing the series. I am going to have to request them from the library because the last couple of times I went in they did not have them. I have not tried any of her other books but look forward to trying them.
I have book 1 of "Myth & Magic" too. Dang it, I keep forgetting about these books. Too many books, NEVER enough time!

Hey guys, I just started reading this series and I like it a lot. BUT, is anyone else annoyed by the way Riley is about her body? I don't mean the sexual freedom, because I sort of like that about her, not every romance heroine should be virginal. I'm only 1/4 of the way through book 5, but Riley is raped and forced against her will a few times in the series and never deals with it. First in book 1 when Talon kidnaps her, which to me is the worst, because she basically ignores it, because she's in moon heat and feels pleasure. I feel like a lot of times while being violated she feels pleasure and so just ignores the impact of it. Which makes me feel as if Arthur is wrong for putting this into the book and not treating it right. Sometimes when women are raped they feel pleasure and agonize over it and I feel Arthur needs to take more responsibility. In the third book, Riley comes into consciousness and someone is having sex with her and she never seems to feel anything at all...I get that werewolves are different, but consent is consent.
Naomi, I am kind of embarrassed to say that I don't remember Riley being raped in the books. In my defense, I've been reading them since their initial release which goes back 4-5 yrs and my memory stinks. But, maybe I read the scenes you've mentioned (which I can't remember specifically, sorry) and just went with it feeling it fit the whole were-sex-moon heat thing? I honestly don't know. But, I definitely agree with you - no means no. If a character in a story is raped, the author will hopefully have the character deal with the incident(s) and the aftermath of it.
I agree Naomi. I love the sexual freedom, the lack of virgins and the fact that the character is not focused on an HEA. It is refreshing. The incident with Talon was upsetting, and then the kidnapping and rape was too -- not that they happened but that the author did not deal with them and neither did the character. I am about to read #3 and I am hoping Riley addresses this somehow? I had to put the series aside after #2, I laughed so hard ( not in a good way) after the 6 hours or so period of time that Riley had 4 sexual partners. I was not bothered by the fact that she had 4 partners, but I just thought that 4 of them in such a short span of time was over the top -- not morally -- but realistically (yes yes I know this is fantasy). But she is chasing a bad guy, trying to avoid being kidnapped again, and she stops to have sex with 4 different encoutners and it is not during the moon heat. Just not belieavable. But I plan to read #3.
I stopped after book #2 for the same reasons Naomi states. The rape wasn't dealt with properly and I could no longer respect the author for ignoring the seriousness of the issue.
I can't remember what happened in book 2. That was too long ago for me, those files must'a been purged to make room for new ones. :\
Keri's newsletter had the following info:Not only have NAL purchased books 6 and 7 in the Dark Angels series, but they've bought the first two books of my new series, which features a phoenix heroine. Big yay!
Darkness Unmasked, the 5th of the Dark Angels series, is slotted in for June 2013 release, and, at this stage, Darkness Splintered (book 6) will be available November 2013.
I'm also working on a secret project, that I should be able to tell you more about next newsletter :)
A phoenix heroine sounds fun! I don't think I've read about one in any other series.
Also, just remembered she did a re-release of her previous serious that I was unable to get ahold of in the US. These are available on kindle now.
I agree, Lis. I need to get back to her spin-off series. I've only read #1 so far.
I enjoyed those, Lis. Grabbed 'um when I was in AU. Nice shifter PNR world.
My hands down favorite is Relic Hunters, second is Lizzie Grace, third is Outcast. But, you need to be prepared to read all 3 Outcast books to get resolution to the overall plot.I’ve pretty much read everything available from her apart from Riley, and the Dark Angel one. I didn’t care for the Phoenix series. It was just constant random sex with basically anyone that would stand still long enough. I need more plot to sex ratio. And, I don’t mind smut, but I like smut with relationship. Random gets old for me pretty fast. It just doesn’t do anything for me. Which is why I’ve collected the Riley series, but haven’t tried it yet, because I’ve heard…things. Things that discourage me. I will someday. I love everything else though!
Oh, and I haven’t read the Witch King one yet either, but I own it. I guess I have 3 to get to then…

I've also read her "Ripple Creek Werewolves" books, which were decent. There are only two in the series, that I know of.
