Sigh... I adore Ilona & Gordon. The Kate Daniels series if my favorite UF series, without question. They are so adept at creating complex worlds, unique bad guys, layered and endearing characters and wonderful story lines with hilarious dialogue and a few truly heart wrenching moments. Love them!Oh, and I loved The Edge as well and look forward to Bayou Moon. =)
Agreed, DH! I was thrilled when I stumbled onto that series when it first came out, although I have to admit the cover almost turned me off buying it, SO glad it didn't. I'm so happy that it's gaining popularity b/c it really is one of the best!
I have only read the Kate Daniels series but do want to give the Edge Series a try! I went to an author event with Ilona and Gordon last week for the release of Magic Bleeds and it was awesome, they are not what I had pictured and Ilona is a RIOT. And the really cool thing is they are local to me here in Oregon, I didn't know that either! :):) Can't wait to start Magic Bleeds!
Ilona posted a peek inside Bayou Moon on her website.Letter to Bayou Moon Readers
Bayou Moon Snippet
I can't wait for Bayou Moon! Almost here! I love William and his poor wounded self! After seeing the way he was with Jack. *sniff* Be still, my heart.
Have you seen Ilona's take on vampire young adult stories? It was hilarious. I really hope she turns that story into a book. And she just rattled it off quickly without much work on it. She's so talented.Blog: Pretty Boy Vampire
I did see that. Thanks for posting. I got distracted on her site and forgot about it. LOL Me and my ADD.
Ha! That was awesome. LOVE Ilona and her snark.I didn't crazy-crazy-love On the Edge, maybe with a different ending I would have enjoyed it more, but it went cheesy HEA, wrapped-up-with-a-pretty-pink-bow. And I am anti- that. :)
But I am looking forward to Bayou Moon. Wounded, emotionally distant werewolf with a heart of gold? Sign me up. :)
I was just over on fictfact, and saw the announcement for book 3 in The Edge series, with a Nov. 29, 2011 anticipated release. (Also noticed that several of you have added it to your TBR already as well :D)
Ditto! On their website, 'Fate's Edge' is apparently 6% complete. Plus we have 'Magic Slays' out very soon! :D
Here's a snippet from Fate's Edge, posted by Ilona:Spoiler tags used b/c it's fairly long

Let's hope she's had time to get some writing in while unpacking.
Some info on Ilona's blog about Fate's EdgeLetter to the Readers is available on the Home Page of the website, complete with a small snippet. We're currently working on the edits which are due on Monday. The edits are surprisingly light, which is kind of awesome.
We got several queries about the next, and possibly final, book of the Edge. Short answer: we have no idea what it will be about and we don't know if the series will be extended. It's doing well in sales, and while it's bad to speculate on the publisher's intent, I think they would extend the contract. The uncertainty is coming more from our end.
ON THE EDGE was meant to be a stand-alone, so the worldbuilding wasn't conceived as a background to a series. Each new book forces us to reinvent the setting a little. FATE'S EDGE was a blast to write, but at the same time, unless this book pulls a wild surprise out of the bag and people really love it, I'm not sure I would commit to another 2 or 3 books in this world.
We're kind of pulling side character stories out of thin air at this point. It's almost like every successive book is a spin-off and while this last one was really funny, neither Gordon nor I are sure that the readers are following us in our crazy adventures. The picture will be clearer after December.
and about Kate #6:
We don't really know when Kate 6 will be released. It's not written yet, and typically I would say "May of next year," however we're hitting a storyline snag. For the timeline to make sense, we need Andrea/Raphael spin-off to happen before Kate 6 takes place.
I know. Bummed. And "storyline snag" doesn't sound good. But, I guess a spinoff with Andrea and Raphael might be fun.

I just started the first book in this series yesterday and I'm not sure I'm liking it. Of course, I'm only 30 pgs. in and I feel as I was just dumped in the world with little background...but let's hope that improves!
I hope it gets better for ya, DG. Ilona and Gordon are among my favorite authors. Are you reading Kate Daniels or The Edge?ETA: I saw in the 'currently reading' post you are on KD #1. Hope you can stick with it and end up enjoying it. The world is unique and they do eventually fill ya in on all the quirks of the world.
Steph wrote: "I would too, Dawn. How come you aren't likin' Andrea right now?"Because she is acting crazy with Raphael and I know she is getting it together but come on how can you be mean to him and then she abandon Kate for months.
Yes I agree I am way over the top and silly!

I'll keep reading, Steph. I know I had the same feeling with the Psy-Changeling series.
OIC, Dawn. Yeah, that didn't make a lot of sense to me either. And your strong reaction to it just means your invested in the characters. :) That's a good thing.:) DG, hope you end up enjoying it!
New eBook rls'd @ 1 September with "A Questionable Client", a Kate Daniels prequel. In a world beset by magic waves, Kate Daniels works as a mercenary. She is tired, hungry, and there is foul-smelling blood on her boots. All she wants to do is to go home, but when Mercenary Guild offers her a job she can’t refuse, she finds herself protecting a man against Russian wizards. (Previously published in Dark and Stormy Knights) Also includes first two chapters of Fate's Edge, The Edge book #3, and first two chapters of Magic Grieves (no GR link or add'l info avail.), a Kate novella.
Ilona & Gordon posted: Due to a family emergency, the next publishing date for us is August 2012. That means that Andrea's book will be out in August 2012, Edge 4 will be on schedule for December, and Kate 6 and 7 will be released closer together.
I know this will not be a popular decision; however, for us it's the decision between the health of our child and the next book. Child wins.
Certainly understandable!
Agree! While I'm sad that the schedule has been pushed back, I'm also happy to see them putting their kids first. They've got their priorities straight!
