I nominate Vicki Tyley and her book "Thin Blood," a very cool and suspenseful thriller. She's had quite a some success with the book recently, hitting #6 of the Amazon Bestseller list of paid Kindle apps only today. The book is very quickly crawling its way up to the top, it seems, and it is definitely worth a read.

Hi there! I'm new to this list and just finished a book by a Goodreads author last night, Gregory Gerard's memoir In Jupiter's Shadow. It's a fabulous book, and really interesting to me from a writer's perspective in how it's put together... it is holding me in the space of the book many hours after finishing it. Highly recommended.
I recommend Jaleta Clegg with a big ol'!!!Her book, Nexus Point is an edge of the seat, awesome science fiction read.
Only one? There are so many great ones I've read! Today I'll recommend one of my favorites: Johanna Moran, author of The Wives of Henry Oades. This is historical fiction that is based on a true story. Johanna's writing is truly brilliant and I found the story captivating.
I'll go with one I'm currently reading: Being Light. It's a humorous lit fiction set in England.

I recommend Michelle Hoover
The Quickening This is a really great book! She also has a discussion grouphttp://www.goodreads.com/group/show/3...
I'd have to recommend Darcia Helle, The Cutting Edge, hilarious, well-written laugh a page. But just as riotous is Christy Stewart,Loath Letters. so I'm torn. I lean towards Stewart only 'cause she's single
BUT, there is one that stands above all -- or below, depending on your perspective: D W St John. Anyone who gets 7 one-star reviews in one day can't be all bad. he's also a publisher, and his site is an excellent read for anyone who wants to call themselves a writer.

I would recommend The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf, a story of a supposed child abduction seen from several points of view, and Jubilee by Eliza Graham, another story of a child's disappearance in the past, how it affected the family and seen from different points in the family's history.
I have read many excellent works by Goodreads authors. Here are a few poetry collections.Forms of Intercession
Case Walking: An AIDS Case Manager Wails Her Blues: Poems
My Kind of Animal
The Underwater Hospital
Jaimey Grant's books are excellent. I am recommending two:
. I am about a third of the way into "Deception" and enjoying it very much. "Betrayal" is my favorite of her books thusfar.
I second Sharon's nominiation of Jaimey Grant's novels. They are very good, though I haven't gotten the chance to read Deception yet D:
A great travel around the world adventure that will make you want to pack your bags and leave tomorrow.

Great idea, Vincent. I recommend Glorious by GR member, Bernice L. McFadden. I was completely taken with this book and had a hard time putting it down.Glorious~Tricia
If you like historical fiction that is less "fantasy" and more reality, I highly recommend Kate Quinn's Mistress of Rome. I will add a warning, however. It is about a Jewish slave girl and a gladiator in 1st Century Rome, so don't pick it up expecting fluff.
I really enjoyed Take the Monkeys and Run by Karen Cantwell. It is a fun romp of a book with a great mystery thrown in. The novel reminded me of an updated Lucy and Ethel caper. Truly, a great read.
One of my favorite books that I've read this year was written by a Goodreads Author:
Pulled by Amy Lichtenhan

White Flag of the Dead series by Joseph Talluto
Another author I've recently read is:

"The Silver Mist" by Martin Treanor is awesome! It was not what I was expecting...but it was a touching, sometime humorous read and was a story to stay with you for a long time. I loved it! The Silver Mist
