The Hunger Games movie rights have been acquired by Lionsgate per their announcement on March 18, 2009. The Hunger Games is the first book in a trilogy by author Suzanne Collins, who will also be adapting the screenplay. Due to be released in 2011 along with many other anticipated movies, such as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II

Plot Synopsis
The Hunger Games movie is based on Suzanne Collin's best-selling young adult novel of the same name.

The story is set in post apocalypse times what used to be North America is now 12 Districts known as Panem which is under a dictatorship dominated by television. The base of this dictatorship is in a city known as Capital. Once a year as a highlight 24 (two from each district) teenagers are drawn by lottery to play the Hunger Games in what is called “The Arena” in these games there is only one unspoken rule you may not eat the dead players. The 24 teens must fight each other – at the end of the game the losers will die and the winner gets a life of comfort.

The heroin is Katniss Everdeen from the 12th district, living in very poor conditions in a mining community known as Seam. Volunteers to take her little sisters place when her sister’s name is called, although there hasn’t been a winner from the 12th district in thirty years. Fighting to stay alive while battling with emotions and feelings she has for two of the other contestants Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne.

I'm a member of a ton of paranormal romance groups. I love twilight and vampire academy, etc so I made this group called Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics to really showcase other series too. Love Twilight Lovers though!!! Twilight got me started on Young Adult and Paranormal Romance in the first place!!!

Can't wait for the movie. I hope it'sas good as the movie or I'll be very disapointed and probably not watch the other two.

Jennifer Lawrence has officially been cast as Katniss.

Yep. She's also in X-Men: First Class as whatever the shapeshifter girl's name is (I can't believe I don't remember, considering how much of an X-Men fan I am. O.o)
