Whats It About?

ok so.... this is MY summary:

These two kids get killed in a car accident. Instead of going to heaven or whatever, they (i guess) become some sort of ghost. They are in the same world as us only no one can see them. Umm this happens and that happens and they have to try to kill (i think some monster?) that always eats everyone.

Sorry I havent read it in a year, but that's what I remembered. :)
