SF Masterworks Group discussion

A young man arrives in the anarchic city of Bellona, in a near future USA. This world has two moons but could otherwise be our own. The man, known only as 'the Kid', begins to write a novel called Dhalgren that begins where it ends. Dhalgren is about the possibilites of fiction and about the special demands and pleasures of youth culture.

Not yet, the size of the book intimidates me a little. I haven't actually read anything by Delany before so I'm not sure if this will be the best place to start. I'll maybe start with one of his shorter works...

I saw this tome in the bookshop and will probably leave it til near the end of my SF Masterworks challenge...
