I'm all about David Burton's The Second Coming. It takes place a couple of hundred years after a long, drawn out Armageddon starts. It has an involved plot, the world is fascinating and the characters are interesting. There's no explicit sex, but there's m/m, m/f and f/f relationships.
It's the July read for one of the fantasy/scifi groups.Ironically, David is the guy who introduced me to GR in the first place.
LOL. I thought it would be a good idea if people wanted to go over there to read and discuss it there.I know what it's like to want to be lazy. After creating this group, I want to take it easy...lol
Jason, after seeing the many posts this morning, I wouldn't say you're lazy. You deserve to take it easy. LOL
Brainycat, glad to have introduced you to GR. This place is awesome and I love the book recommendations I get from here. And thanks for the kind words about the book! :)
Thank you, David! Thanks to the wonderful people I've met on this site and the "random advice" page on your blog, I've decided to take my writing seriously :)
Right now I'm writing erotica. I had writen crappy scifi and horror when I was younger, and for the last few years I've been writing technical stuff like howtos and blogs stuff.I posted some erotica for some friends; they really liked it so they got me in touch with a publisher. The publisher was extremely encouraging, so I read a couple books on writing to shore up my instincts with practical knowhow. I'm working on some more erotica for that crowd lately, with an eye towards making my writing "as good as possible" rather than "good enough".
Jason, BC is REALLY REALLY GOOD! He is very talented and imho will do very well as an erotica author!
Brainy, where can we read some of what you've written? You can PM me if you don't want to let the "cat" out of the bag here ... LOL!
If you want some good lessons on self-editing, I cannot recommend highly enough, “Self-Editing for Fiction Writers” (second edition) by Renni Browne & Dave King. This should be on every writer's shelf.
David, that was the FIRST book I read! And I saw myself improving immediately after every chapter.I've been posting in the Paranormal and Fantasy Erotica / PNR Addicts group. It's a saucy crowd; my kind of people :)
