BlackTail walked into camp hermouth had a plump pidgeon. She had returned from hunting patrol.

`Blacktail picked a mouse from the pile and sat down in a shdy spot near the elders den.

Hawkflight sat down and watched the clan around him.

Blacktail saw HawkFlight and walked tword him.

"Hello,"he mewed.

" Greetings." Blacktail blushed.

"How's it going,"he mewed.

" Fine we found a rabbit nest! " Blacktail purred.

"Interesting,"he mewed.

" Yeah we have more then enogh prey." she purred.

"Good,"he mewed.

Blacktail nodded.

Hawkflight stood up and sniffed the air."Oh,no,"he mewed."ShadowClan is attacking!"

"What! " Blcaktail shreiked as she unsheatged her clws and charged at the camp entrance.

Hawkflight leaped onto a ShadowClan warrior with claw unsheathed.Hawkflight gripped the ShadowClan she-cat by the neck and flung her across clearing.Swiftly he darted after the warrior and sunk his teeth into it's belly.

Blacktail grasped a tom cat and scratched his bellly. The cat scratched her neck. Both cats fell and lay limp.

Hawkflight jumped back and raced toward the limp Blacktail.

Blacktail was breathing but bleeding badly. Her leg was ripped and bleeding badly. Her white pelt was streaked red.

"Stay with me,Blacktail,"he mewed,concerned and then grasped her by the scruff and brought her to the medicine cat's den where she was to be healed.

Blacktail woke up in the medicne den, her leg dripped with cobwebs. She began to meow, hoping Hawkflight would come and he would purr.

" Hawkflight?" Blacktail began to meow.

Hawkflight rushed up to Blacktail.

" What happned." She asked.

"We chased them off,"he mewed."You okay?"

" Yes i'm fine, anyone else injured. The nursery fine, no kits missing? Anyone die?" Blacktail asked her eyes were full of fear. " It's just I never have been beet. Did the warrior I battle die?"

"A lot of warriors are injured,we have one kit missing,Darkfur and Mousestrike died,"he mewed.

" I'm finding that kit." She hissed as she stood up.

"No,"he mewed."You need to rest."

Blacktail started to walk out the medicne den.

Hawkflight blocked her path."No,"he mewed.

" Yes. I was protecting the nursery. It's my fault it's gone. I'm going no matter what you say." Blacktail hissed.

"Fine,"he muttered and padded off.

Blacktail darted out of the den and ran out of camp.

Blacktail stalked throught the forest. Sniffing every fern and patch of grass.

Hawkflight picked a rabbit out of the fresh-kill pile.He took a bite of it.

" Is that kit blood?" Blacktail was outside shadowclan territory and was smelling a branch.

Squirrelkit's shoulder tore as she struggled in the ShadowClan deputy's grip,she yowled in pain when she wiggled lose.She sprinted away as fast as she could.

" Wait was that? Squirrelkit!" Blacktail sprinted tword the yowl of pain.

Squirrelkit barreled into Blacktail,she screeched.

" It's ok it's me Blacktail" Blacktail purred as she grabbed Squirrelkit's scruff.

Squirrelkit struggled free."Keep your paws off of me,"she growled.

" What's wrong? Come on let's go back to camp" Blacktail soothed.

Squirrelkit padded back to camp,she sat down in the clearing and was being treated by the medicine cat.

Blacktail walked in behinnd Squrrilkit. She padded to Hawkflight.

Hawkflight took another bite of rabbit and then looked up at Blacktail.


Squirrelkit yowled in pain when the medicine cat placed herbs on her wounds.

" I found her" Blacktail meowed and looked tword the kit.

"I see,"he mumbled and took another bite.


Once Squirrelkit was treated she padded back into the nursery where her brothers were.
