I always have trouble posting pics on GR but some of my fave romantic paintings are by Jean-Honore Fragonard, a painter who worked around the French Revolution period. Everyone is wearing white wigs, and they show lovers in beautiful gardens. So lovely.
God Speed by Edmund Leighton was the first that came to mind for me.

Nice! I have Huguenot ancestors who came to US way back in 1700s.
"Kiss 4" by Mark Matzke
I was drawn to this image at a Ren Fest and was kicking myself later for not getting it. When we went back a few years later, I was both surprised and pleased to see the artist still had a booth there, and the image was still available. Would have loved to purchase a large copy of it, but had to settle for a cheaper and more affordable 5x8 size.
Love the artwork, ladies.
