We have polls in theese topics

Where the convention should be.
Other Conventions.
A goal on how many members we should go for before telling goodreads.
Will you be willing to pay a fee? Such as an Entrance fee?
What's the maximum you'd pay?
Are you willing to provide food?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

Where in the states (or out of them) do you live?
Would you be able to attend if the convention was held in St. Louis, Missouri?

message 3: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Crisan (sprinkles4cookies) I personally think that the convention should be held in 3 multiple places. That way it meets a wider range...

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

That's actually a really good idea. Have one in the east, one in the middle, and one in the west.. hmm.. -pulls out my map-

What if it was Utah, Missouri, and North Carolina?

message 5: by Jenn (new)

Jenn That still doesnt work. People cant really aford to travel. Missouri would be the closest to me and I couldnt pay to travel all the way there.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Well we can't very well have it in every state, this really isn't the comicon, it can't be in every state as of yet. But every year we'll just trade what three states it's in, and maybe one day if it gets popular enough and it pays enough we'll be able to put it in every state, maybe two in every state. But we gotta start small.

message 7: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Thats true, we have to start small. But if you make it so only people in one state can ever go, it will never work. If you cut off not only half of the US but the rest of the world too...

message 8: by Carson (new)

Carson T (carsont) who here is filthy rich?

message 9: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Definitely not me!

message 10: by Carson (new)

Carson T (carsont) me either! T.T

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Crisan (sprinkles4cookies) Well, Goodreads is ALL over the world. I say we spread out our inviting range. . . (How many of you here are members of other groups or have a group, blog, youtube account blah, blah, blah. See what I mean. There are Sooooo many ways. My sister just petted me...weird.)

Lion Queen Izabel (TeamReallyAwesome) I say Chicago. Its right in the midwest, its an easy to get around city. Not much crime, and there are some really pretty areas. Theres acouple of great places for it too, and also, its not north, not south, not east, not west, just right in the middle. I could travel east, but not south.

message 13: by Carson (new)

Carson T (carsont) But I'm in the East O.O

message 14: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Im only a few hours from Chicago and its too far away!

Lion Queen Izabel (TeamReallyAwesome) A few hours is too far? So your saying the only way is if its in your home town?

message 16: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Crisan (sprinkles4cookies) I still believe that it should be held in mulitple places.

message 17: by Carson (new)

Carson T (carsont) me too

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

((JENN! YOU LIVE A FEW HORUS FROM CHICAGO!! I LIVE LIKE AN HOUR FROM CHICAGO! lol sry i just think that's rlly bitchin.

message 24: by Carson (new)

Carson T (carsont) O.O Tallahassee >.< we r small...

message 25: by Carson (new)

Carson T (carsont) Miami is at the bottom and Orlando is Disneyworld

Jenn Hockey Girl Daughter of Zues wrote: "A few hours is too far? So your saying the only way is if its in your home town?"

Not my home town itsself, just maybe a little closer. Im trying to remind you all that people (not just me!) cant always travel long distances and if you assume they can, this wont work!

message 29: by Jess (new)

Jess (ju5t4n3rd) Well you can't expect everyone to come.

message 30: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Im aware of that. But if you cut off over half the US (not to mention world), you'll end up with one little convention held by 20 people and it will only happen once and never work. Im trying to point things like this out so people realize that the way the group is going about this isnt realistic and wont work.

message 31: by Jess (new)

Jess (ju5t4n3rd) If you put the convention in Chicago or St. Louis, half the US won't be cut off. I understand that some out of country members might not be able to participate in the convention, but that's also why we're considering serveral stations around the world. This isn't unrealistic and it will only not work if we have people who think it won't work.

message 32: by Jenn (new)

Jenn If you put it directly in the middle, only people in the middle can go. Do you think people from CA or NY will go to Chicago or St Louis? Alot of what people are discussing and saying is unrealistic. If you cant realize that, its not my problem. It will work if people actually try to think logically, but no one really seems to do that.

message 33: by Jess (new)

Jess (ju5t4n3rd) Well, if you're going to be rude and say that peoples goals are unrealistic, that is somewhat your problem because that's about as bad saying to a person they'll never acomplish their goals.

message 34: by Jenn (last edited Aug 04, 2010 05:39PM) (new)

Jenn Im not saying the goal is unrealistic. Im saying the ideas they're giving to accomplish that goal are. Some of the suggests be given are unrealistic. If we're logical about it, we can make this work. People (for the most part) however, are not being logical.

message 35: by Jess (new)

Jess (ju5t4n3rd) I just don't want you to be thinking that we can't do something that we set our minds to. The people of this group are working hard to try and figure out how this can convention can work out and though we know that it will be difficult, just ditching ideas isn't gonna help.

message 36: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Im not thinking that we cant do it. Im thinking that other people arent keeping their heads on straight and it wont work unless they get going in the right direction. Im not just shooting down ideas. Ive suggested an idea or two which would (I hope) help, but ofcourse people just A) ignore me or B) shoot down my idea because everyone apparently has their heart set on Chicago.

message 37: by Jess (new)

Jess (ju5t4n3rd) Our hearts aren't just set on Chicago. I already told you, we want to do different 'stations', so to speak.

message 38: by (S) (new)
