WOOHOO! Every week Goodreads features only a few groups (5) on the main groups page, out of 25k+ groups. A few days ago I nominated our group and we got picked and are now featured.

Great!! More members= more book recommendations. I haven't come close to running out of books since joining Goodreads.

Thanks. I must admit when I saw the "nominate a group to be featured" thread (At Goodreads offical feedback group), I sheepishly nominated my own group. I thought we deserved it too. And we're a bit different than some of the other groups with our theme. :)

Thanks ladies. I don't know what criteria they use when they choose the featured groups each week. There is a place in the official Goodreads feedback group where you can nominate a group to bring it to their attention. I nominated us last week and was surprised not only on having our group choosen, but so quickly.

Maybe it has something to do with activity? Proportionate to the number of members, this group is very active- lots of posts.

How they pick groups, I don't know. I only know where you can recommend groups and the only criteria I know of is that the group must be public not private. So I nomiated us. Now how they choose after that, I don't know. They wouldn't have to choose from the list, but can. If you've ever paid alot of attention to the featured groups, they usually try to choose a variety each week, so it isn't say 5 groups that all read romance novels. Otherwise, I have no idea how they do it.

Ditto Briansgirl- you are doing a fantastic job. This group has been very active and there is good rapport between members. Maybe that is one of the criteria for featuring a group. Keep up the good work, you've made this a really fun group.

It's been long enough since the first time, maybe they'd consider featuring us again.

I am SO glad your group was featured since I found you! I LOVE cozy mysteries and have multiple shelves for different categories of cozy mysteries. I also read other types of books but one of my most favorites are the cozy mysteries. I am looking forward to participating in this group. :-)
