Author ABC Lists by Genre

Ooooh ... and I get to pick a new genre. Let's move to Science Fiction, and I shall start us with Douglas Adams, who is one of my all-time favorite authors.

W.T. Quick - author of Dreams of Flesh and Sand, among others; he also co-authored the Quest for Tomorrow series with William Shatner.
All ready now for someone to pick it up with the next author for the Science Fiction genre - someone whose last name begins with 'R'...

Steven Utley -sounds like an interesting author - he has a book of stories entitled The 400-Million-Year Itch coming out in July 2012.

One person picks a genre, say Science Fiction and gives a Science Fiction author whose name begins with A, ex. Isaac Asimov. The next person has to give a Science Fiction author whose last name begins with B, third person gives a Science Fiction author whose last name begins with C, and so on all the way to Z. The person who gives the Z name then picks another genre and we keep going. I know there's a limited amount of different genres, so repeats of genres are ok, but let's try not to repeat the authors already given.
Also, feel free to add any short comments about your author, like why you picked him or her, have you read a really good book by this author, etc.
I'll start us with Mystery authors and my A is:
Susan Wittig Albert is a really good author of several mystery series. She just started a new series with The Darling Dahlias and the Cucumber Tree, a mystery that takes place in the time of the Depression and is solved by a group of gardening Jessica Fletchers/Miss Marples.
Next person gives a Mystery author whose last name begins with B and so on.
