Mary Ella entered the forge with her book in hand. "Something wrong?" she asked kindly.
McKenna entered the forge, with a few materials in her hand. She had a large hunk of celestial bronze in her hand, along with some tools. She got t work and got into her own little world. She didn't hear anything or see anything but the hunk of celestial bronze that she was planning on turning into a dagger and its sheath. She was making it small, perhaps for a child or someone with small fingers.
Mary Ella left the forge with not much interest for metal.
Phoebe squealed in relief and joy! "We found it, Candice! We're finally here!" Judging by the sticks and leaves clung to the blonde's hair, it was an adventure for the pair to reach the forge. Her excitement diminished swiftly upon realizing there was someone hard at work inside. Embarassment popped the air out of Phoebe's happy balloon. Sheepish, she waved her fingers a little at McKenna.
"Hi. Um. It was hard finding this place."
Great! Now I sound like an idiot! Phoebe declared to herself.
McKenna got out of her work trance. "Oh. Hi Phoebe and Candice. Congratulations, I guess. Do you guys know anyone willing to buy a small dagger? I made one earlier and it is in our cabin."
"I would IF I had the money," Phoebe declared with a hint of deflation in her tone. Shoulders slumped by every second until she slinked over by Candice likely due to nerves."What are you working on now?"
"This was orginally supposed to be a small dagger and its sheath, but now it looks like it is going to be a schmitar. I haven't made a schmitar in a long time,"explained McKenna. She let the sword take from, but it deviated from what she had planned.
"Ornamental scimitars blew my breath away when I saw the pictures in my history books. They're like deadly crescent moons with gems. And um. Gold." Phoebe shuffled the tips of her sneakers upon the ground, causing a puff of dirt to billow."Do you have plans to add gems?"
"I think so. They do look very pretty with gems. I might add some rubies and sapphires. This scimitar might then be for someone who wants a pretty sword and a deadly weapon. Once you hook one of these around someone's neck, they're toast," said McKenna. She continued" Thanks for the gem idea."
Phoebe's left shoulder popped noncommitedly but she did smile shyly at the gratitude. "When I see those, I think Arabia and Ali-Baba and his Forty Thieves. Think genies are real?"((I apologize for spelling Ali-Baba wrong. I know it's spelled differently but I'm too lazy right now to verify!))
((It's ok))"So do I. Maybe genies are real. After all, we arethe children of Greek gods. Is your shoulder okay?I heard it pop" stated McKenna. She got up, looked for some gems and started to stick them in a pattern. Blue, red, blue, red, blue, red.... and then a real diamond in the center. The blue and red gems weren't real sapphires and rubies. That would be too expensive.
Phoebe's interest arouse at the sight of the multitude of gemstones. She inched closer to fondly admire them while ideas whirled in her head for designs."Um. It's fine. It um...does that." She shyly tried to dismiss the truth. It had been increasingly worsening since the truth of her birth was revealed; she considered it part of her deformity and tried to hide that fact.
"What you could do instead of those semi-precious gemstones is cut grooves into the metal and create a design around the diamond. Then fill in the grooves with color. Maybe find a blue diamond and create a fire around the center blue flame?"
McKenna raised her left eyebrow because of Phoebe's response about her shoulder. She liked the idea and started to do it."Thanks, agian. You know what? If I manage to sell it, I'll give you some of my profit."
"Yo..Yo...You don't have to! I know I look poor and um..." Phoebe's rambling led to a big red apple blush across her face. Someone may as well hang a neon sign around her neck to state -- I AM POOR. K. THX!"I mean, thank you. But if that's the case, I should help you a little. It wouldn't be fair that you did all the work."
"I didn't do that because you look poor, which you don't. I offered that because you helped me with the sword. I always do that when someone helps me out,"explained McKenna. She wasn't the type to pity people.
Phoebe's clothes had holes and patches -- scruffier than a shaggy dog left to roll in a pit of ash and dirt. She appeared poor alright but immediately calmed and smiled by McKenna's explanation. "Thanks." She blushed. "So where did you get the materials? Are we given them? I...um...am not sure how it works here. New."
"Well, some of the materials here are mine, but some are not. Your appearance is what any 'Festus camper, that isn't glamourous, would call in vogue. It's perfect for working on something." McKenna had on a pair of old overalls with one strap hooked, and the other loose, while she kept blowing her hair out of the way.
Phoebe dug into a jean pocket and produced a hair twisty-tie, holding it out to McKenna. "Usually I wear this or shove a cloth headband on. My work is delicate that a stray strand can ruin it entirely. And...thanks for that pick me up. I'm not used to it.""So," she looked around suspiciously as if campers would magically appear from the walls and ridicule her before she spoke directly to McKenna, "how long have you been at camp?"
((Krizzia, how are you to know what McKenna is thinking what she's Moonstonesandbrooks' character?))
((Whoa. Stop right there. McKenna is my charrie, not yours, Krizzia. You can't do that. Thank you, Tanja.Btw, Angus, you need to use grammar. Haven't has an apostrophe in it. ))
Candice gazed in awe at the Forge. "This," she murmured, "Is amazing!"
Phoebe nodded back at Candice. "Isn't it? Did you hear? There's materials here we're permitted to use!" The thought of having metals, ones should couldn't afford, made me smile joyously. She could still keep up her work!

Yep, that's one of the many cool things about the forge."
((Moonstonesandbooks -- since it's a new year shall we say the two chatted a while longer and likely during the summer kept in touch with a few pen pal letters? Phoebe would be staying at camp.))

Vicky bent over the slender peice of metal, soon to become a throwing dagger. She placed the celestial bronze into the furnace and pumped the billows, stirring the coals' heat. She felt a slight wind come in as someone opened the door. She turned to snap at them before she realized it was her Zeus friend, Matt. "Oh, hey," she greeted, returning to her work.Matt nodded back a greeting, motioning for Xeena to follow him in.
((If you posted in Zeus, pretend I posted there first^^)) Xeena bounced in beside him, wide smile on her tan face. She'd been waiting a whole year to get the same sword, or close to the same sword as her brother. Her old one was too heavy for her, and had rust on it, even though she took good care of it.
"What can I help you with?" Vicky inquired after placing the hot metal into a bucket of water to cool down."Little sis needs a sword," Matt replied, gesturing to Xeena.
Vicky pursed her lips as she glanced at Xeena's old sword. "I see," she muttered before returning to a normal tone. "So, what style do you like? Curved, straight, small, large?"
Xeena grimanced at the term, 'little sis,' but let it slide for that one time. "I prefer straight and small," she decided quickly, nodding at the sword in her mind.
"Right," she murmered, glancing at Xeena's small, yet athletic build. "Any type of metal or shade you like?"
Xeena's bright blue eyes lit up even brighter than before, if that was even possible, "I love Matt's sword. The fact that you can kill monsters and humans with it!" She rambled on, voice becoming louder with excitement.
"Ah yes. The doubled sided bronze," Vicky smiled. "A perfect choice. It's one of my best." She turned to Matt with teasing smile. "Think she can handle it?"Matt's mouth curved up into a laughing smile. "I think she's ready," he replied.
"Alright then," the Hephaestus agreed. Shen then snapped her fingers as she remembered the last question. "Do you want the sword to change into something when it's not in use?" she inquired. "Like, Matt's turns into his leather necklace."
"It would be easier to carry around," she mused with pursed lips. "How about just a regular bracelet?" She asked, then turned to her brother. "I think you meant to say that I was born ready," she corrected with a smirk.
Matt rolled his eyes. "Right," he replied sarcastically. "I'll make a note."Vicky grinned and nodded. "Sure. And the bracelet is...black? blue?"
Xeena grinned at her brother before turning back to Vicky. "Blue? Brings out my eyes," she decided quickly. Thus was a lot easier than she thought it would have.
Matt raised a brow and mouthed the words, "brings out my eyes?" incredulously."Thought so," Vicky nodded, ignoring Matt. She sized Xeena up with a last careful eye. "The sword should be done by tomorrow," she decided with a smile.
Xeena's face brightened at the news. "Really? That's fantastic!" She crowed out, feeling as if she coukd jump for joy.
Sven walked into the forge and walked over to the grinding wheel. It was time to put a new edge on his favorite weapon: The Wolf's Claws.Gauntlets with long ripping knives coming out from above the knuckles these weapons were designed to rip and slash and stab in close combat.
Whistling an Iron Maiden song he pumped the wheel with his foot, placing a new edge on the already fairly sharp claws.

"Thanks Vic," Matt smiled and waved.
"Anytime," She replied, turning back to work.
