Yes, I hate it when I renew and there is the one book I have been waiting for that just suddenly pops up. That's why I usually wait a month to see if they sweeten the pot a little with some other titles. I'm not sure if I'm too into Clark as the presentation book this year. I have liked Color and Life these past two years, but the art books are really hard for me to actually sit down and read through cover to cover.
Well, I got my first package from Folio for the 2010-11 year:All Quiet on the Western Front
Metamorphosis
The History of the Kings of Britain
The all look great, smell great, feel great. Package 2 should be on the way with rest of subscription freebies.
Package 2 came in: T.E. Lawrence's Crusader Castles is pretty amazing just because it hasn't really been widely published since the 30's. Plus its full of awesome sketches and photos of castles, many of which were widely damaged during the world wars.
I just joined this group because I just realized I had a FS book (Scarlet Pimpernel) on my bookshelf and never even realized it. I bought it in a used bookshop for $15 (without the slipcase) when I fell in love with the illustrations and quality of the book. Otherwise, I'm new to the FS world and I hope to get a membership when my cash flow improves. For now, all I can do is salivate over the selection of books on the FS website.
Hi Irene, My best advice is to look for them in used bookstores where you can find them for a quarter of the price. Some stores even keep them all together in the same spot. I have probably gotten over half of my Folio Society books that way. In fact just two days ago I found a copy of Coleridge's "Among the Lakes and the Woods" from 1992 for only $8.
Just watch out for those sneaky mimics by the Heritage Press, whose inferior materials are no match for Folio Society editions. Plus the art is usually better in F.S. books.

Any clues on what books will be available with this prospectus?
