I loved both books that have come out so far. I'm anxiously awaiting Venom.

I have the first, but haven't gotten to it yet. If only there was more time in a day!

I really liked these ones. I can't wait for Venom. I like how even though Gin is an assasin she still has a code of morals to live by.

Does the second end in a cliffhanger?

I *heart* Gin Blanco! I'm half way through Venom and I'm loving every second of it. I feel like a squealing teenager when I read this series because it's one of my favorites. Estep hit the nail on the head with this series.
I'm loving Owen so far. I'm still nervous though because you don't really know what his motivation is.

I am so jealous that you are reading this one. I feel the same way that you do about these books, they might have to be ones that I buy instead of library books.

I need to read the second. I have so many second books I want to read though and even more firsts. This one and the second Jane Yellowrock are at the top of my list for UF.

A brief summary of Venom. Nothing that gives that would count as a spoiler though. I left those out.

4.5. Gin Blanco is back, forced back out of retirement when an acquaintance of hers is threatened. In this book Gin learns more about the mysterious photo of her sister and why her family was killed. She has to determine whether or not to trust Owen with her secret because he seems to be getting more and more pieces of the puzzle. Like the previous stories, there's a lot of action. This time Gin has to go against Elliot Slater, Mabs number one enforcer and guard. He's a giant, with the ability to move quicker than Gin ever thought was possible. He's strong and knows how to fight, making him Gin's greatest opponent to date.
I just have to say that I love this series! It's one of my favorites. Gin is strong and confident and stands up for whats right even if it'll kill her. She's not whinny and she doesn't knowingly put herself into bad situations. I'm so tired of characters who go against everything they've been told to do just so the author can create more drama. The drama in this book doesn't stem from stupidity, but good writing. Gin might rush into things, but she keeps her brain working and processes what she's getting into. It's nice to see a character who thinks. Amazingly, they're hard to come by.

Didn't it seem kind of obvious about her sister being alive? I thought she was at the very first mention of her and the foundation collapsing on her.

Anyway, too bad there isn't any pink in either the second or third book, lol.

I thought it sounded like a possibility, but I wasn't sure.

I guess I kind of always feel that way with those type of situations. I'm usually right way more than I am wrong though.

The more dramatic the family member dies, and the more detials in the book, they always come back alive and bitter.

It's the general rule it seems. Right after the lil'sis got sqished, I just firgured she pop back up.

Please please tell me she ends it with the detective. Can't stand it when heroes distrust/have no respect for heroines. He pretty much treated her as if she was scum and yet would sleep with her?? and then get all pissy about having feelings about her?????? This is the main reason why I haven't started Web of Lies. I want him to have a tragic accident and dissapear

That's funny! His self righteous crap really does get old. Especially after he sleeps with her, but I still liked it. Conflict I guess.

Ethan from the Chicolands Vampire(Chloe Neill) series is one I would love to remove as a love interest.

I think he is going to come around. He is a good cop and all he really knows about Gin is that she kills people for a living. He doesn't really know her yet, but yet he has a strange attraction to her. Really, we shouldn't like Gin either, but we do (or at least I do).

I am going to my book club tonight and we meet at B&N, I have a feeling that this book may follow me home. :)

That's cute that ya'll meet at B&N! I'm only a part of my school book club and we just meet in the school library. . .it'd be so much cooler to meet at a B&N. :D

It does make choosing the next book easy. We talk about the book we read, then everyone leaves and brings back 1 or 2 books and then we lobby for them and vote for the next month.

Ok, I just started Spells and the 4th BDB and I'm reading WoT 11, lol. How about I get to the next one after I finish at least 2 of those. You can remind me if I forget, lol.

I just finished the 3rd book, Venom, and really like the way this series has turned. I think most things you could see coming a long way before they happened, but it was what you wanted to happen so that was ok.

I finished the second one. I really liked it. :D

Ok, Caine really disappointed me. I actually never really understood the attraction between them and didn't like the way he treated Gin after their brief affair in the first book. I hoped he would grow up a bit though. Good thing I guess because I loved Owen (that's his name, right?)! It's not often in a UF that we get a new love interest when it starts out like it did in the beginning of the first book. Maybe Caine might come back and there will be a triangle, but I would be happy if he just stayed away.

Oh, and for this second one I listened to the audiobook and it was really great. The narrator did the voices perfectly.

I totally get what you mean about Caine/Owen, Carrie. I am glad to hear that the narrator is a good one for this series. I will have to check them out.

Yep, I was pleasantly surprised. Since I have so many YA books to read lately I think I might listen to the third audiobook as well.

I agree with the shake up being nice. It keeps you wondering.

I read Tangled Threads a few days ago and have to say that I am firmly in Owen's court. He was really there for Gin. It was funny watching her wait for him to just walk away.

I also loved the action with Mab.

I was shocked with the new info with Fletcher. I am not sure what to think there.

I also thought that things with Bria went about how I thought they would.

I'm starting it now. Well, after Glee...

I find myself not really wanting to read this one. I know that once I finish it I won't have another one for a while and I hate that. Apparently I'm stalling.

Gin gets softer in this book. I hope it does not prove to be her undoing.

I've been reading this series non-stop and I'm about 1/2 way through Venom. I love it so far.

I'm just curious, when did her series get expanded? I've been holding off on book 5 because originally it was suppose to be the last one and I just didn't want it to end.

I don't know, but maybe she got another contract. The last book ended where it there were no more it would be ok, but could also go in a new direction with more books.

So, I missed that the new one had come out since I've given up on keeping up on new releases, but now I'm going to have to make a mad dash for the book store since it's not fair that I don't own it yet. =)

I am waiting to get it from the library, they are so slow and it is killing me waiting!

My library still hasn't gotten book 4 so I'm not waiting on this one. =)

I feel funny, mine just came in the mail. This is one of those series I was waiting for the final book so I could read them back to back.

By a Thread...has a priceless ending. I was listening to the audiobook while at work and thank God I was alone because I totally did I fist pump. Had to love her backbone.

Reading Spider's Revenge. I waited until I bought the next one to start. I bought it yesterday as a birthday present for myself so I could keep myself entertained today. I'm just getting ready for the big build up at the end.

I knew who was going to show up. I just had that feeling and I was happy to see that since it felt like that plot line needs a full circle moment. I don't know if that will happen by the end of this book, but we'll see what happens.
I've got about 200 pages left, but I'm already sad that I won't have another book immediately after this one. Apparently she's now commissioned for 10.
