I didn't expect it, but I liked it. There was something that kept them 4 stars instead of 5 stars for me, but there is just so much going on in the stories. I'm waiting impatiently for book 5.
I agree with you Heather. I liked this series a lot but it stayed in the 4 star range for me too. Definitely worth reading though.Have you read the spin off series? I like that one even better (4.5-5 stars). The heroine, Mircea's daughter Dory, is a great kick b*tt gal reminicent in style to Kate Daniels.
Ya, I haven't made a thread for that yet. I'll try and remember to make it in the morning. I gave them all 4 stars. They are reminiscent of Kate Daniels, but there's something that's missing that keeps them from being AMAZING! I don't know what it is, but there's just something (unknown in my mind) that has yet to be perfected. I did give book 4 in the CP series a 4.5. I love what happened to Cassie and Pritkin.
Really? I feel like Mircea (while totally hot) is more of a sideline romance/speedbump until Cassie gets together with Pritkin. Or maybe I'm just delusional, because I am also Team Pritkin all the way.
I love these books, but they are also so confusing, thanks to the timetraveling and all the action. Stuff that happen in first book refer to stuff that happen in the fourth book and the plot is all over the place? Also, so much happens! I think all four books span about two weeks time? Poor Cassie, she never gets a break.
I've only read the first book of the spin-off, but I think they have more romance? I like Dorina more than Cassie.

I think my issue with this series is the only one I saw working romantically might have been the vamp from book 1 that's not brought up very much anymore. I don't remember his name though.
Really? I really like both Mircea and Pritkin. *potential spoiler*
I think it will be very interesting when Cassie & Dory finally meet. I'm guessing that will happen in the next book.
It would seem like the right thing to do, Shannon. I haven't heard anything about the next book though.
The book description was recently updated:
Cassandra Palmer recently defeated a god, which you'd think would buy a girl a little time off. But it doesn't work that way when your new job description is Pythia — the world's chief clairvoyant. Cassie is busier than ever, trying to learn about her power, preparing for her upcoming coronation, and figuring out her relationship with the enigmatic sexy master vampire, Mircea.
But someone doesn't want Cassie to become Pythia, and is willing to go to any lengths to make sure the coronation ceremony never happens—including attacking her mother before Cassie is even born.
So has anyone read this yet? Thoughts?I heard there's a cliffhanger ending, so I'm waiting to read it until the next one comes out. (Not a fan of cliffhangers.)
tried to read the first book but it was going pretty slow and i wasnt in the mood may give it another try.
I've read it, and I loved it!! Cassie Palmer is tied with Kate Daniels for my favorite UF series. I've read that some people had trouble getting through the first book because of world building and info dumps. I love that stuff so it didn't bother me, rather have it explained that wonder what the heck's going on.This series picks up speed with each installment but in my opinion really starts to shine in book 3 and Hunt the Moon was spectacular. It does end on a bit of a cliff hanger, but I think the events immediately prior to that are worth it, and the main plot for this book does get concluded.
i read it and it was so good
there are two REALLY hot sex scenes in there (lol priorities. ofcourse i have to mention this first!) and it does end on an excruciating cliffhanger but so do all the books :(
team pritkin all the way

Thanks Enjee! This was a nice treat to read with my coffee this morning.
Has anyone read the newest one? I just finished it and thought it was tough to get through, could only read 50 pages before I had to switch to another book.

Lol! I am listening to whole series via audio as a review before I get into the new one and find her very whiny. Can't imagine super whiny!!! Kate Daniels and Mercy Thompson are just strong awesome characters that I find ones that whine drive me nuts. The whole "woe is me" is disappointing.

I was going to do a re-read by audio, I got through the first one and realized on the second pass I didn't care for the books as much as I did the first time. I never did go pass #1. I should probably give up the series.
It's been awhile since I found a new series that has me interested. I think the last one was the Haary Dresden series, Other than that I have been doing re-reads. Any suggestions?

A couple that come to mind, but only have 2 books start with these ones, This Case Is Gonna Kill Me andDaughter of the Sword.
I think she's always been whiny, but for some reason it was easier to overlook. Once you notice it, it's going to be all you see.

Been meaning to start up another re-read so I can read book 5 and 6 for this series. (Because it's just a shame not to. ^_- Way to much going on here just to jump in after a few years in between.)Started up Touch the Dark, it's like magic all over again. I still remember waiting at the book store in 2006 for the Waldens guy to finally put it on the shelf. *sighs*
Don't think I've ever been that excited about an unkown author's debut title before, or after it.
Ha-ha!! I'm in the middle of a re-read since the latest book took so long to come out. This series you can not not afford to forget what's happened!
Nope, I agree, I've read book 1 and only remember a handful of characters Need to finish some stuff up before the end of the year, then start re-reads to continue series
Goal of '16!! XD

Yeah, all of my goals seem to be shot this year. But I still have faith I can catch up on this series. I'm done with the reread bits.
Me too. I keep starting them because I won't buy the rest in a series until I know I liked the first. (Well that's the rule I try to stick to. Emphasis on the try!)And then when they switch a series to hardback, but I find if I preorder the ebooks it's cheaper and then I can buy the ones for a good series later at discounted prices. But I've developed a phobia of continuing series, or I keep waiting for the next one and next one to come out. That way I can do a marathon read.
I'm my own worst enemy!
I use to but like I said hardback switches or there where huge spans of time between and I felt like I needed a reread.
It wasn't the one year gaps, cause those are about perfect. It was the ones that were longer. Whether it was just a delay or the transition to hardback.
