My newly released novel, An Obstinate, Headstrong Girl (http://www.obstinateheadstronggirl.com), set in 1999 in rural California, avoids sex scenes also. They're totally unnecessary for sexual tension! As all fans of Jane Austen ought to know. Good luck with your book, and your series!

Hi Stephanie, one of my GR friends belongs to a "clean" romance group here on GR. That may also be a good place to share info about your book. I am not sure if the "clean" romance group is dedicated to HR or CR or both.

A trained portrait painter and former FBI forensic artist spent three years researching what Jane Austen may have looked like, and then created a new portrait which was made into a wax figure recently unveiled at the Jane Austen Centre in Bath.

I just picked up a book at Barnes and Noble, it is a work of fiction, but based on the facts about JA's death. Has anyone else read it? Curious...

Apparently the Jane Austen Centre in Bath had commissioned the whole enterprise, and Melissa Dring (the former FBI forensic artist) tried to re-create what she looked like while she lived in Bath (between the ages 26-31). I'm really pleased with the result too. In addition to being pretty and intelligent as you said, I think that I see a kind of sharp perceptiveness softened through an affectionate disposition in the portrayal of her eyes and face. Apparently Ms. Dring, using Cassandra's amateurish sketch of Jane at age 35 as a starting point, used physical descriptions of her by contemporaries as well as family portraits (including a photo of her brother Francis as an eighty-something year old man) to create the portrait of Jane as younger woman.
