Tips for Self Promotion, Sales, and Advertising discussion

Okay, I have been contemplating using the goodreads per click advertising. Has anyone used this? Did it seem worth the cost? What are your thoughts?

I have, but I'm not sure how effective it is. But, since it's only $5 a day, I do find it affordable.

I used it once. I spent $50 on a 10-day run. Personally, I found it less effective than running a Goodreads giveaway. I wound up with a lot of people adding my book to their to-read list (which they often do with giveaways) but no spike in sales. At least with a giveaway, you get a few reviews in return.

One way to advertise your name is to enter into writing contests, here is one that I entered recently and I am already getting email. While you are there, you might read my entry and if you like it, vote for it.

I'm currently using it and have no complaints, it's affordable advertising, and I can turn it on and off as I wish, and used along with the giveaways is always a plus!
