anniversary... what to get.
Designer Handbag - will always go down wellShoes - would need to look classy and expensive, without actually doing so
Her favourite perfume - one she may not have been able to get hold of for awhile.
Make up a CD of all her favourite songs - this shows you've put some thought into the present.
Treat her to a shopping spree - every woman's favourite past time.
Just a few things I could think of, I have a friend who says she would love a first edition of one of the classics, but she'll have to marry rich for that to happen.
Restaurant gift card? Was that on the list?
She likes reading writing knitting, artsy fartsy stuff, drawing sketching and the like, last year or the year before I bought her a mahogany ezel, with some drawers for paint, pencils and what not. A few years before that she got a spinning wheel and fibers. We have been together so long I think I ran out of things to get her {:-/

Heyley CD's are kinda out. You know with the advent of the Ipod and all. I think she would be a little upset if I wiped her Ipod to put in a few songs ;P
hmmmm this is going to be hard work, I don't much about art, my creative goes along the lines of writing and my dancing. It would depend on you but what about dance lessons, something like salsa - it could be something you do together.
You've got a point there Nick but sometimes its nice to have a CD with some well chosed congs on it - songs that have a special meaning to both of you. My first serious boyfriend use to do it for me and I have a small collection of CD's - including one he recorded himself, he was in a band at the time and decided to write a couple of songs for me.
Sarah, that umbrella sounds gorgeous, I want one!!!When my sister and her boyfirend has been together for 1yr, he took her to Paris, when they had been together for 2yrs he took her to the Maldives and they have just been together 3yrs and they moved in together, so no anniversary trip this year.
A loom for her to weave all the wool she spun? Does she spin or is the wheel just spinning there. Oh my, I meant sitting there!I wouldn't want anything that Hayley suggested! hee, sorry Hayley, I probably would have in my 20s.
Heck if she wants a messenger bag, that's what I would get.
Or some beautiful yarn to knit with. Her favorite colors.
And be her slave for the day. That's the best present of all.
I LOVE that umbrella!Nobody uses umbrellas in Seattle tho. That's how you can tell the tourists. We are so used to getting wet, I wear hats.
I really want one of them now - I'm going to see how much they would cost and treat myself.Lori, no offence taken, I would love all that stuff but then I suppose I'm only 24.
My mum gets a new piece of jewellery every year for her anniversary - this year she got a gold and diamond watch, my dad spoils my mum.
She uses her Spinning wheel all the time. I always get her yarn and fiber. I am looking for something completely out of the ordinary this year though. I have worked allot more then normal this last year, and she has been a pretty good sport about it. Keep the suggestions going. Whatever I get her I will come up with my self, but just hearing your ideas helps open up my thought routines to other areas I might not have otherwise thought of. That is a pretty nifty umbrella Sarah!
She also has a large selection of Dooney & burk, coach, New York New York designer handbags. But she always likes those. Admititly I have no idea why, a bag is a bag.
How about a gift box, with lots of little present - say one for each year been married - though this could work out expensive if there is a lot of years. Its hard to think of something especially when you want something out of the ordinary. I'll keep thinking.
Best gifts ever: a huge easel, a surprise picnic, a giant heart on the roof of the garage drawn with Christmas lights (in June), a weekend away together, a book of poetry.Once he painted our initials in a heart on a water tower. I was horrified at the time, but I'm told it's very romantic.
Have you ever gotten her jewelry? I'm an earring girl. Pretty, sparkly dangling earrings with beadwork or crystal. No diamonds necessary for me. I'm such a cheap date!I'll keep thinking.
Is she into hats?
A gift box filled with many gifts... What are you trying to do to me? I can barely come up with one gift, and you want me to come up with a whole plethora of them! }:-c you keep going on like that and I'll end up with an overloaded brain.
Just kidding, that is actually a start to a very good idea.
I could put Sarah’s Umbrella in it (then taunt her with pictures of it every day in her e-mail)
A handbag full of… alpaca (sp)

Well, she also likes Camping and hiking. I wouldn't put Cranberry picking out of it. I just don't think I have the time or health to plan a big trip. This is kinda happening next week
{:-( waiting to get pummeled by a large group of angry women

Eh she gets jewelry all the time. Maybe a super duper telescope. I saw one last year, with a motor on it that hooked into your laptop. It would track and find stars and whatnot for you. You could program it to take pictures of certain things. It was pretty cool, got my dorkdar humming pretty good. But that was way uber expensive. …
Oh Richard once got me a full day at the spa, it was lovely. Altho frankly I'm not used to being so pampered, a 1/2 day would have been fine.
oh Nick, at least it not very last minute.I was actually going to suggest putting the umbrella into the gift box, maybe with some perfume, some earrings or a necklace, how about a dvd - maybe the first film you ever watched together (if you can remember lol)
With a gift box, the gifts need to thoughtful :D
Well you don't have to get such a fancy telescope, just make sure it has tracking. I went out and bought one that didn't because I was a fool.Nick that's a great present. And stargazing together is so romantic.
A spa day is a good idea - I got my mum one for mothers day last year, she loved it.Red Letter Days - you can get these on-line and you can pick from loads of different ideas and trips but they can get expensive.
I think I would be sleeping on the porch if I gave her a note promising something. My wife knows I'm absent minded.
Any good camera suggestions? One that she would feel special for having?
I know she also likes First edition signed books. But ones that are not to her... like Have a good read J.K. Rowling or whatever. Just the author’s signature.

ebay is good for those signed first editions. As for camera, I have a Canon Powershot, I like it alot. It does everything I want it to do digitally, plus you can change settings to manual if you want to play with f-stops, and all that.
Nick, here is a website for signed first editions and other book collector items.http://www.doodledbooks.com/index.asp
I'm no good with camera stuff so can't suggest anything in that field.
That is a good site Heyley, I don't think they have anything she would be interested in at the moment, but I'm going to add it to my favorites list, maybe in the future they will.
you never know - I think I may use for getting my friend a first edition for christmas - it will all depend on how expensive they are.Have you tried putting into Google - anniversary gift ideas, there are loads of site which have some great ideas but be careful there are some sites that have some horrid ideas.
Eh, all that stuff will be commercial ideas. Something cliché' like a box of chocolates, and flowers. Blah! I like this way better. More personal.
true - though there was a gift idea for a disposable date - this is for a woman and was a blow-up male doll. If someone bought me one of them they would have to die - unless it was for a Hen party.I think there is a website where you can actually name a star, one of my male friends did this for his girlfriend - she was into stargazing.
http://www.thanksdarling.com/categori...
Ok, I’ll bite whats a hen party? And If I am going the sexual route I would rather get her a pole;)
haha - a Hen party is when the maid of honour organizes a mad night for the bride - like a stag night - one wild night of freedom before getting married. The pole is a far better idea lol
I must admit I am leaning toward the pole :p Again that is more for me... Think Nick focus on her.
Yep, you should be focusing on her - I like the idea of naming a star after her and putting it in the gift box, obviously not the star but the certificate which shows the name of the star and all the other details. If you got her that and the telescope you could find her star together.
After thinking about it for a bit, I decided against the telescope. The only time it is dark here is in the winter, she is not very fond of fridged temps, and turns into a lap poodle all winter. Very warm and comforting when sitting on a couch, not so much outside on the deck looking up. Additionally when it is dark out much of the sky is blurred by the northern lights. Very pretty in themselves, but I think they might block out the stars sometimes they are pretty vibrant.
I am thinking a pole, something skimpy, and lots of oils.

Well, if your going to do that, then make sure the underwear is something from Victoria Secrets or something like nothing - nothing cheap otherwises you could be in trouble. Don't forget lots of candles, set the atmosphere.
HAHA! I was totally joking. I may be a dumb guy, but I am not retarded. I think I will go with the gift box idea, Handbag, nice camera; maybe a necklace or earrings, godiva truffles, and something else still undecided.
My wife does love victoria's secrets though; I think 90% of her under yummys are from there.

well, why don't you add some into the gift box, as well as the other stuff, which sounds wonderful. I think she'll love it, I would love one - I need to locate a man before christmas so I can get a gift box full of great gifts lol
Have you scouted out the book stores... How about the football team you cheer for, In the states all the football players date cheerleaders.

Ideas so far:
a) Gift certificate to Country kitchen
b) A bunch of cloths from some hags secret
c) Maybe another puppy
d) New car
e) A month without me
You see my wife pretty much gets what she wants when she wants it so… I have to think outside the box every Christmas, birthday, wife day, best friend ever day, greatest nag on the planet day. This year is really bad; I am drawing a complete blank. I look at that feeble list, its just depressing.
