Buried within this article about the alleged cost of piracy to publishers is a little gem about an Attributor plan to demand money from AdBrite, Yahoo, and Google.
AdBrite has TOS about clients that exploit copyright infringing works to make money, but AdBrite isn't very cooperative with copyright activists, and I've not seen great responses from AdBrite when copyright owners complain.
Basically, I think, big companies pay lip service to the law, but are rather arrogant with regard to the authors they hurt.
