I really enjoyed this look at a teen questioning and doubting her faith. Teenagers question everything, and faith is included. Especially for the main character, Sam. She's the daughter of the town's most popular pastor, but that doesn't mean life, or faith, is easy. Her mom resorted to drinking because of the pressures it put on her and wound up in rehab. Now Sam and her dad are stuck together, except that he's not so good at that. When a young girl is abducted, he's even less available for his daughter. I felt the whole story was well written and could easily identify with Sam as she questions her faith and her family. I'd recommend it.

Laura (apenandzen) I've been wanting to read this, thanks for the review Jennifer.

I hope you like it, too, Laura. I liked the little bit of mystery to it, too, but it wasn't very well explained, probably because that wasn't the main point of the story.

Sara Zarr is one of my favorite modern authors for tackling faith. :-)

Laura (apenandzen) I agree. I think she does a very nice job.
