The beach is a long expanse of soft sand, with ridges of rock lining the lake. One of the main boundaries of camp, with beautiful scenery.

Jo (Penname8) | 4150 comments Fiona enjoyed a morning stroll in the beach every Saturday, though it was more cloudy than usual.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas strolled casually down the rocky shore of the lake, a cool breeze ruffling his dark hair. He exhaled deeply, the serious look on his face melting into a wistful one as he looked out at across the lake.

Bounding to a randomly sandy part of the shoreline and carrying two incredibly fluffy towels, a change of clothes from her simple one suit, suntan lotion, and her iPod, Myra saw a familiar silhouette. She dropped her load on the sandy part of the shore and gently bumped her hip to Lucas', grinning. "Hey, you."

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

((LOL, It's VoldeQuirrel. xD))

Lucas, thinking he was completely alone, leapt back in surprise. "Oh, gods..." He sighed, shaking his head. "You couldn't have warned me first?" he asked teasingly, shaking the sand off his sneaker.

(( :D YES!))

"'Fraid not," Myra said gravely, though she smiled nevertheless. She took an experimental step in the water and jumped out almost immediately, burrowing her toes in the warm sand. "So, I'm guessing you're here because you enjoy a nice candlelit dinner for two, romantic movies and long walks on the beaches. Ah, ah, don't speak. I'm an amazing judge of character." Myra grinned at him, goosebumps visible on every inch of her skin from the step in the frigid water.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas snorted and rolled his eyes, chuckling at her reaction to the cold water. "Of course you are." He tilted his head to one side, eying the lake warily. Swimming wasn't something he enjoyed. "Hum, I assume that you're crazy self will try and take a dip in these freezing waters."

"Already did," Myra said, like it was no big deal, though she felt childishly proud. She gathered a fold of black material between her thumb and forefinger, pinching it away from her body, and snapped it so her wet swimsuit shimmered with drops of water.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

"I should've guessed as much," Lucas mused to himself. "I've been here for awhile, and haven't seen you...Were you at the lake earlier?" he asked curiously, raising a brow.

Myra felt a defiant blush creep into her cheeks though she looked at him steadily. "Yeah. With Holly."

message 11: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 25, 2010 01:39PM) (new)

"The Athena chick," Lucas said with an understanding nod. "Um, do you take joy in swimming in ice cold water?" he asked, grinning widely in amusement.

message 12: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
"Her name's Holly," Myra mumbled, looking out to the promising breaks of sun from the cloudy sky. "Not really. I like a challenge, though."

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

The stubborn part of Lucas ignored her correction, and he nodded. "And the lake is different from here, how...?" He had the feeling that there was something else behind this, and her blush only escalated his curiosity.

"It's... well, it's a lot more open here," Myra said hesitantly. Bikini Girl was mocking her in her head, and she suddenly felt a wave of self-consciousness. "I come here to tan. Or to think. Or both."

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas nodded again, this time a little more absently. "This is a quiet, serene place to think," he said, moving his gaze away from Myra and back to the lake. "But I'm sure it's a wonderful place to tan as well," he added with a low chuckle.

Myra's blush grew and she looked down, fiddling with the elastic. "Living proof," she said, smiling brightly with her eyes squeezed shut and her tongue sticking out.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas glanced at her for a moment, smiling at her expression. "Mhmmp, I see."

"You're in a good mood today," Myra commented, wrapping herself in a towel so her dark hair spilled like a sienna stain on the white.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

"Not particularly," Lucas replied, his easy smile fading into a thoughtful look. "I'm not angry, that's a plus," he remarked dryly, as he was always taunted about that part of his personality.

message 20: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
"Interesting," Myra said, rolling over the 'i' in her mouth with a drawl. "So you're not, you know, going to fire another potentially life-ending arrow at me." She sidled up to him mischeviously. "Arencha glad you didn't kill me?"

message 21: by Devyn Kelly! (new)

Devyn Kelly! | 133 comments Selena walked up and set her towel down. She squirted on some sunscreen and rubbed it in. She layed on the towel wanting to work on her tan. She rolled over on her stomach and grabbed her notebook and began to doodle.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas looked down, brows arched in a studious manner. "I can have second thoughts," he replied jokingly, expression mockingly threatening.

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
"Well I hope you don't," Myra said, looking at Lucas warily. She looked at him for a few moments-- usually she'd never been drawn to brown eyes, but on this boy it looked... well--
"You still don't know my immortal parent," Myra said, bowing her head and shaking it with a drawn-out sigh.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

"Shouldn't that bother me a tad more than it seems to bother you?" Lucas asked. He'd long given up on trying to guess, because it didn't make much of a difference. Unless, of course, she was daughter of Poseidon or something, which he doubted.

message 25: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
Myra frowned, not liking the idea of something bothering her more than him. "I tend to harp on about some things," she explained. "I'll give you a clue. She's Ares' sister."

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas shrugged, letting out a deep sigh. "I'm a terrible guesser, I'll leave wit to the Athena kids." Then he tilted his head to one side. "Does that mean you're my half-cousin-ish in some weird godly way?"

message 27: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
"Ew. Don't even," Myra said, wrinkling her pert little nose in disgust. As if the idea of being half-cousins was more than she could bear. However, her body language suggested otherwise: her foot drew small little nervous patters in the sand, her arm wrapped around her slender waist, like she was holding herself together.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

"I didn't think I was that bad," Lucas said, misinterpreting her reaction. "I'm slightly offended. Maybe I should go and vent my feelings to the pegasi or dryads, hoping they understand and welcome me," he added, voice dripping with a sarcastic sappiness.

message 29: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
"I didn't mean... It's just--" She stopped herself, closing her eyes. "Sorry. That was, um, harsh."
But not really, she thought, thinking of Bikini Girl's taunting, makeup smeared face. "Maybe you should. Dryads are probably better company than me," she offered finally, darting a look at Lucas' face.

Jo (Penname8) | 4150 comments Fiona widened her eyes when she saw Lucas. She had seen her best friend in camp, Freesia, with Lucas...

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

((Sorry, didn't see your post, Whim. >.<))

Lucas allowed a small laugh, then shook his head. "That wasn't harsh, and I was being sarcastic. The dryads are too clingy," he added, raising a brow at Myra.

"And I may be insane. We're all one big happy, completely dysfunctional family," Myra said, raising her arms abover head and swaying her hips in an imitation of a jig.

Jo (Penname8) | 4150 comments Fiona was spying from the distance and had luckily not made a sound. Who was the one beside him? A girl... Myra.

Myra spread her towel out and sat on it, her legs stretched out, toes skimming the cold water. "Who's that?" she asked curiously, eyes meeting the still figure from the distance.

((G2G SUSHI TIMEZ!))

Isobel *The Goddess of Annoyance* (goddess_of_annoyance) | 13860 comments Aobheal walked to the beach, carrying her notebook. She noticed the girl standing there and tilted her head to the side. The peacock feather in her short brown hair bounced with her movements.

((lolls, I just got back. Sooo... Much.... Sushi...))

"She's staring at us," Myra said, tilting her head back, her damp hair trailing over the sand. She's staring at you. Myra normally wasn't one for jealousy, but in this case things had already gone so far out of hand, she was feeling new things every day. Myra wasn't blind, exactly-- she knew how the female population at the camp fawned for Lucas, and she knew that she was just another clingy dryad. Disgusted with this notion, the nausea at being compared to everyone else pulled Myra out of her reverie, just enough so she moved fifty meters away from Lucas, sprawled lazily on her newly spread blanket to be bathed in the warm and golden sunlight.
This foolishness stops NOW, she thought grimly, testing open the bottle of suntan lotion and smearing it over her bronzed arms and legs.

Isobel *The Goddess of Annoyance* (goddess_of_annoyance) | 13860 comments Aobheal looked at the two people at the other end of the beach. She smiled, humming to herself and sitting down on the sand. She placed her feet in the water and pulled out her notebook and peacock-feather pen.

Isobel *The Goddess of Annoyance* (goddess_of_annoyance) | 13860 comments (serious? ooh... ok?)
Chaumelle, after the incident at the lake, decided to come to the beach instead. Much better selection of guys. As she walked through the sand, her bikini dripping slightly, she noticed two things. First: a girl who seemed like she belonged to Hera sitting in the water, writing. Second: Myra talking to a boy. A yummy boy. Wait, she told herself. Myra? The girl from the lake? Chaumelle smiled. This was going to be fun.

Oh-oh, I want some more... Oh oh, what are you waiting for? Take a bite out of my heart tonight...
Myra mouthed the words along as she lounged on her white towel, waiting for Holly.

Isobel *The Goddess of Annoyance* (goddess_of_annoyance) | 13860 comments Aobheal looked up at Rachelle's voice. "You seem upset," she said quietly.
Chaumelle grinned and walked closer to the water, sitting down and looking at Myra out of the corner of her eye.
