TWILIGHT HATERS discussion
Hello!

New Here
Heya DeenaOh, you remind me of myself, me and my best friend also like to watch the movies so we can sit there and twist the dialogues and script, laugh at inappropriate moments and then wonder why the movie never ends. Also, it's best if you go with atleast one person who loves the movies so you can annoy them to death and loudly snore through it. I've been slapped and glared at so far.

No, wait, but I'm the anti-Twilighht person! No, I'm really just a Harry Potter superfangirl. I'm Magdalena (obviously) and hope this group keeps doing good- it got my friend to join GR.
Hey guys! I am a proud twilight hater. have you read nightlight, a parody of twilight? It rocks!!!
Peace, and I'm outta hear for the night.
Peace, and I'm outta hear for the night.
it is so funny. Her name is Belle Goose, and she moves into I think a place called switchknife instead of forks. i was cracking up for so long, and edwarT is a computer geek.
BWAH SO MANY NEW PEOPLE MY HEAD IS SPINNING!!!I'm thinking about reading Nightlight, it's supposed to be very funny.
Except now I'm still battling on whether or not to suck up my pride and read the Twilight manga just to see how it is.
Nightlight... is that the one with the eaten apple on the back? My friend has that, I was going to read it.
I don't know if I should read it or not!!I'm a hater who hasn't read the books...so sometimes I feel kinda bad about it. And no one hear has read the manga (or at least said anything about it) and I always see it when I go to the library to get Ouran High School Host Club (BLEH! I DOESN'T HAVE VOLUMES 15-17!!! I WILL NEVER KNOW IF HARUHI AND KYOYA END UP TOGETHER!!) and that part of me that feels bad about not reading the books reaches out for it.
And the other half of me says "No you idiot!! Twilight's a waste of time! You'll lose more braincells reading five seconds of that book than sniffing Sharpies for an hour!"
So the second half of me wins becuase mean people scare me.
OMG I SAW THE ANIME!!Why did I say "omg"?
I watched the anime and now I'm reading the manga. I am an extreme Kyoya fangirl.
My favorite part was when he almost raped Haruhi. I was all "Do it Kyoya! Do it! You're not nice! You're evil! EVIL!!"
But he didn't. :(
hey guys! yeah i canda enjoed reading the twilight books, but only because i could make fun of them! that was really funny! lol

I agree! i go to the movies because my friend really likes it and it's funny when everyone starts gasping or saying "ooohhhh".... it's a small town I live in, and they all know eachother, so we like setting eachother off.

my parents went to UCLA film department, and also UCBerkley in film department... my dad works on movies... i just think i inherited that!!!
YAY!!! ROSE YOU'RE BACK!!!! *huggles Rose*It's been so hard without you!! I've been like the only one here with all these noobs!!!! No offence, I mean. I think I spelled offense wrong.
Just to add to the spam.....I'm writing...two novels right now. No, three. If you count my NaNoWriMo novel, which I am very behind on. I'm supposed to have 10,002 words by now and I only have 7,079. And I changed the title twice.
Gonna be so much fun....
But anywayz! Velcome Danielle! I hope you might be able to keep us on topic.
But I still felt so alone...It's really hard, and because my computer freaks out all the time I don't update my wordcount very often, so when I do go on I get so peeved when it says I'm a few days behind.
The pep-talks that come in every once in a while are probably the best thing. Part of me just wants to give up and just read the pep-talks.
Having an author here is really cool. I'm aspiring to be one myself, but I have really high standards and just often don't find what I do good enough. :( Perfectionism is a b.. sometimes. I'm constantly doubting myself. Therefore, I just can't get anything finished, because halfway through I just always think its awful and discontinue.

Nice to meet you. Yes, tongue and cheek.

Uhhh ahahahaha welcome to insanity and twilight hatom.
ahahahaha i like your picture.
Danielle wrote: "Aww, don't give up! You know you're growing insane when you can't be happy with ANYTHING you write. You have to find your happy place, choose a stopping point, and then pass your work out to beta readers. They'll tell ya if something is wrong... BELIEVE ME."Thanks for the encouragement. Though I don't have beta readers. Part of my problem is that I'm essentially bilingual. My native language is Hungarian, but I've been learning English since I could talk as well, though never lived in an English-speaking country. I read, speak, write in both languages. I'm just not sure which one I'm better at writing creatively. I have written fanfiction in English and I didn't have any problems. I'm just not sure if it sounds weird to English speakers or not. While I know that sometimes my Hungarian does sound weird to other Hungarians. Agh, this is so complicated for me, it's frustrating.
what books do you guys like?
oh, and thanks elizabeth!

i'm asking everyone...

I use romance in all of my stories...seriously, its as one of the two categories in all of my fanfics except my one-shot one.I don't think you would need a Beta, Zelda. You sound perfectly fine all the time on here.
I'm a Beta on FF, but I've only Beta-ed one thing because someone's normal Beta was out sick or something. She then promised me that she would have me Beta her Latin if she used it in any of her later chapters, being that I critized her on her Latin in this chapter.
BWAH!! I NEED TO WRITE THAT ON MY BETA PROFILE: Can speak/write basic Latin, ALL THE TRANSLATING SITES ARE WRONG.
Wrong.
Yeah, umbra means shadow; and I would be pleased to help you Rose!It mostly has nouns, verbs and words like that correctly, but what Latin translators do mess up on is numbers and how you want it to be written. Like you know how when you're talking to one person you'll say,
"Will YOU take out the trash?"
And when you're talking to several people it sounds the same, so it'll give you the singular version, and it messes up on cases, person, gender, number--Everything really. And it's not like it'll just give you 1st person, singular, it messes up the entire thing.
You won't say: "I are going to the movie theater," but that is what they typically give you.
I hate it.
But, again, most nouns, verbs, and pronouns are correct, but could possibly not be in the correct case.
I use Latin in my own stories because a) it sounds like an ancient language (Cuz it is, duh), b) because I take it, I can double-check what the translators give me (yeah, I use 'em too). I totally need a Latin-English dictionary....
Rose wrote: "I'm a Beta on FF,"That is why I would never write in a a language I have no clue about. Not long ago I bought a cheap book and they had some Hungarian in there among the English text. They obviously used a translation site. It made no sense! They could have at least found a Hungarian person online and asked them or something. Who was the editor???
I think part of the point of having a Beta reader is pretty much the same as having an editor. You need someone to look over what was in your mind, because it may make sense to you, it may not to others. Plus I may speak almost native-level English, I still don't know some rules that I may have learned on a Creative Writing course or something like that. You know, the difference between writing a casual text as opposed to a story.
BTW, apparently the editor profession had gone downhill...
That's ridiculous! You should totally send a hate-mail to the company that published the book and scream in Hungarian in your letter.

LOL. They'd probably not understand a word... But it is riddiculous.
Editors are actually really bad here in Hungary as well. Even in the Office of the Prime Minister. Their website is full of mistakes. Mom said she would love to have an editor's job as she's brilliant at the Hungarian language. My spelling is awful, but my mom would have made a great editor.
I know that whenever I find a mistake in book I'm reading, I write it down in this journal I have. The page number, the paragraph number, the line number, the book title, I write it all down...I don't really know why.And it's the same journal where I wrote down everything I love about America (From APH, I mean).

You seem smart, so maybe now the smart people will overpower us idiots!!
