Hi - I'm Martin Treanor. I write speculative and supernatural fiction, and my novel - working title: 'The Silver Mist' - will be released next year.I've never written anything for teens or young adults - I think I kind of hoped they'd drift in my direction anyway. :)
The one thing I will say though: I have read a lot of great fiction aimed at teens and young adults - fiction that respects them with having a brain and taste - particularly in the darker genres - long may it continue.
Many thanks Chris for the invite. It's a pleasure to meet you all.
Martin :)
Hey, I'm Stormi and I love reading YA fiction and would love to see more in the horror dept. I have a few ideas spinning around in my head if I can get them from my head to paper then maybe I will be a writer some day. :)
Hi----Thanks for the invitation to join. I like horror a bit... But I dig anything with suspense. LOTS of suspense. So, I guess that's a major component of Horror genre fiction and nonfiction--suspense. I think I'll fit in fine here. Glad to be a part of this group.
Greetings y'all! I love most forms of books, and I've written a few as well that fall into this genre. Thanks for the invite and I hope to communicate with each and every one of you!Michael

Thanks for the invite, CJ. I write SF/fantasy/horror - yeah, bit of genre blurring there - though not yet specifically for the YA market, more adult protagonists and themes.
Thanks for the invite. Hi, I'm Sidney Williams. I have three YA novels written under the name Michael August. The first of those to appear as an e-book is The Gift, paranormal mystery about a girl who receives a dollhouse with dark magic secrets. It's now available for Kindle and on Smashwords and at theCrossroad Press website in other formats.

Glad to see there is a YA horror presence on Goodreads. I love to meet like-minded writers and readers.
Hello, I'm Holly Harkness, a writer and reviewer of horror for kids and young adults. My first series for kids is coming out in Australia mid-2011 (though it's not horror). I love all things horror, but my favourite authors in the genre are Darren Shan, Joseph Delaney, Charlie Higson, David Gatward, Jon Mayhew and Barry Hutchison... plus so many more!

Hi everyone, my name is Arthur Mills. I’m in the US Army and when I’m not working 20+ hours a day, I’m reading or writing. I wrote, The Empty Lot Next Door. It's a part memoir / part fiction book that has won several awards including awards in the young adult genres. Not too savvy for my first book. After years of questioning whether my childhood terror I experienced had really happened, I went back to research the empty lot next to my childhood home. I discovered some shocking news about the rumors of the little girl that supposedly have died in the fire that destroyed the house. I nicknamed the girlish apparition Candle Face due to her charred and distorted facial features. Whether or not people believe in ghosts, my true-life experience deserves consideration. Anyone else out there in cyberspace have a good young adult horror book for me to read?
I am a middle school librarian. I don't like horror but I have many avid readers in my school who do. I tried reading some (
and
) and have had nightmares. It just isn't for me. So I am hoping you all who like the genre can recommend to me books that I can add for the students. Thanks!
Hi, I'm Ashlyn Rae S. Seeing as most of you are adults who write (or think up) horror novels, I feel out of place. All I do is read, comment, and review teen horror novels. If you ever need the services of moi, just comment/message me.
Hi thereI've written a horror/ mystery and was wondering if anyone here would like to review it? I can offer you a free copy in exchange.
Its on smashwords and amazon.
Cheers

Hi!I'm Kendra and I love monsters. : D
I love to read shivery tales, and write them, too. (Nothing too gore-splattered or brutal, though).
Hi, thanks for the invite!I'm Andy and, while I don't write specifically for the YA field, I believe that horror-loving teens can read whatever level of the genre they like. I certainly know that when I was a teenager (several years and a couple of hair inches ago), I loved Stephen King, Dean Koontz, James Herbert et al.

Hey all! Thanks for the invite. I'm Laura A. H. Elliott and my new release Shadow Slayer (Shadow Series #2) is ya paranormal romance, but there are horror elements in the series. Shadows want to be human more than anything! You can check out the series here: http://laurasmagicday.wordpress.com/1... I also like to write about alien romance and enchanted road trips too (while eating lots of popcorn) Nice to be here! Can't wait to read your books.
Hi Everyone,I'm Adrianne. I usually write humor and have done quite a bit of franchise writing and video game dialog. Sometimes I combine humor with horror, like in my YA title, Fangs for Nothing. Recently I launched a dystopian novel with horror elements, The Urchin. A few years ago I wrote a short horror script that won the Screamfest film festival. I enjoy horror as a counterbalance to a lot of the middle grade franchise work that I write.
Hi All,Thanks C.J. for the invitation. I am a writer and teacher. I write mostly speculative fiction and have a special love for fantasy. http://joerroper.com
Hi!I received an invitation to join this group. My partner Louise Bohmer and I write the Anti-Heroes online serial, which is currently available from Amazon, B&N, Kobo, Smashwords and everywhere fine ebooks are sold. It isn't horror, per se, though we do have horror elements in it. It's actually a teen superhero series, but we have enti-heroes like a biochemically created vampire and the son of Satan in our books. I hope you guys are willing to check it out. Thanks for the invite and I'm looking forward to discussions!

All best,

Hi, everyone! My name is Lori R. Lopez and I'm primarily a horror author, but my writing usually contains humor as well as suspense. My books and stories also blend genres such as fantasy, paranormal, fairytale, and science fiction. I write for most ages and have fans that range from middle-graders through adult. A couple of tales are darker, and those have warnings. I hope you'll check me out at http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... :)Thanks for the invitation, C.J.!
Hello All! I'm Edward Kent and I recently self published my first novel "Ed Undead" through Create Space. It's a zombie novel with some romance thrown in. I invite you all to my blog at e-kent. blogspot.com!
Hi, CJ. Thanks for the invite. I write paranormal/horror YA for Penguin Publishing. My next book to release is Ashes on the Waves, a gothic YA novel based on Edgar Allan Poe's poem, "Annabel Lee." http://www.marylindsey.com
Hi, Chris,Thanks for the invitation. I feel like an imposter since I've recently allowed my Phantom series to be removed from Amazon while it searches for a new publisher . . . In the meantime, visit my blog to check out my other books, short stories (Chems is a sci-fi horror mix), giveaways, and upcoming works. http://www.annswann.blogspot.com
Saying hi is a bit too mainstream but saying "I'm happy I joined this group" could be much more useful. Okay, so I'm Reymart Dinglasa, but in my short stories and articles I go with the name (R.M.D.). So I'm happy to find this group and this could be the time where I can talk to people professionally. And as a young one, I'm pretty much sure that this group would mold my ideas. :) I'm writing my first ever narrative...so I guess, this group would let me step into the world a single or more that one notch.
Thanks for the invite, CJ! Hi, members! I'm Nikki Barnabee. I started out as a writer of (unpubbed) crime/thrillers & sci-fi, but I began writing short stories in the past year and they all seem to turn toward the dark side. That's ok ... I like it there. My 2 older bros loved the creepy stuff & brainwashed me as a little tyke. ;-} I haven't pubbed my horror & sci-fi short stories yet - they're free to read on my website. Only one is specifically aimed at YA, a zombie tale entitled "Becca 01: Zoms." Yes, I'd planned on sequels. LOL ( http://nikbarnabee.weebly.com/12/post... ). I love the idea of a group for readers/writers of horror, people who can appreciate a gory scare, a neck bite, a brain nibble. It's nice to "meet" you all!
Hello! I'm Jacqueline (JQ / Jackie). I love horror and write YA, so for NaNo 2012 I decided to try to write a YA Horror. I love gothic horror (MADMAN's DAUGHTER by Megan Sheppard), zombie horror (THIS IS NOT A TEST by Courtney Summers), and pretty much anything else creepy. My favorite reads are the ones that won't let me sleep in the dark.
Hi! I'm John Vamvas. I've been writing plays and screenplays with my wife, Olga Montes, for the past 20 years. Recently, we took one of our screenplays (WHEREWOLVES) and adapted it into a novel. It's been a thrilling experience and we look forward to hearing what you think.
Hi. I'm Daisy. This group is a fantastic idea! I'm currently writing a novel, although it's not in the horror genre, I greatly enjoy the genre. I look forward to being introduced to new YA and A authors as well as read your book recommendations!
I just discovered this group (there is so much on Goodreads it could be a career all by itself!) and looks like fun. I will only do this to you folks once, but A Darkness Shattered was written with horror and teen romance in mind. If anyone is interested in coming of age/zombie adventure, it might make a fun and quick read for you. If you do pick it up, let me know your thoughts please, and I'm always open to suggestions too!
Hello everyone!I'm Cheryl from Canada. (Well maybe not the ONLY Cheryl in Canada).
As a young person, I loved reading scary books, but of course, when I was young there was no YA or NA genre, so I was reading "The Shining" and equally frightening adult horror.
One of my favourites that I read over and over was "We have always lived in the Castle" by Shirley Jackson. We have always lived in the castle
Now, I still enjoy YA horror, sharing it with my two sons and writing it for my own audience.
Looking forward to connecting!

My name is Chris Wright (I write under CJ Wright), and I've been writing horror fiction for a few years, and have now over the last 2 have ventured into writing horror for the Young Adult market.
I've always enjoyed a good scary story, with ghosts, and ghouls, and vampires, etc, ever since I read The Ghost of Thomas Kempe as a child.
I'm hoping that this group will be a place where authors of young adult horror fiction can promote their work, reach and interact with their audience, and that everyone who reads this genre can share the books they enjoy and news on new releases.
