Wow, this is really really good. I just found one thing:
"...It was warm and protective..."

Here, you already said it was a protective shield in the line before, so I don't think it's neccasary to have protective again. (Does this make sense?)

Otherwise, I REALLY liked it, I wonder why she screamed when she saw the driver, gotta read on. :D

I just finished Chapter one and Wow, girl! Your descriptions are amazing! This is really great so far. The only thing I'd watch out for is the way you describe the main character. Right now she seems a little too perfect, setting her up to become a potential Mary Sue. But that's really it. Very awesome writing! I'll be sure to keep reading :D
