Is anything interesting holding your attention?

I am still reading "Kitchen House." I don't have a lot of time to devote to leisure reading right now. So far this is the kind of book that I don't want to set aside, but I also don't feel compelled to set aside other things to finish reading it.

I just finished The Paris Wife this weekend which is an excellent fiction novel about Ernest Hemingway's first marriage. I am now starting Loving Frank by Nancy Horan, a fiction novel about Frank Lloyd Wright's love affair.

I am reading the Time Travelers Wife. Its pretty interesting. I finished Room and Ice Station by Matthew Riley last week. I hope to have this one finished by Wednesday.

Just finished Room. Wow.
Now I'm finishing up The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. Reserving judgment!

I'm reading The Saving Graces by Patricia Gaffney and I'm enjoying it. I'm about 100 pages in and hope to finish by the end of the week.

I'm also reading The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli, but only because it's for a reading challenge here on Goodreads for the Seasonal Reading Challenge group. We were supposed to pick a shelf/genre that we don't usually read, that's outside our comfort zones, and I chose Politics. It's a challenge, but it's interesting and I know that when I'm finished, I'll be glad I read it.

I read THE SAVING GRACES years ago and I loved it! I think that was the first book I read with a group of women friends in it. A lot of that type (close-knit groups of friends) have come out since then and I've read some of them, but I think that first one remains my favorite.

I really want to read The Paris Wife! I read Loving Frank when it came out and I liked it.

The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my favorite novels. I had to give up on trying to figure out how the time traveling worked, and just went with the story.

If you enjoyed Loving Frank then I think you'll enjoy The Paris Wife too, Theresa.

I'm finishing up Don't Blink by James Patterson and Liars and Saints by Maile Meloy. I read L&S years ago and for some reason I'm reading it again.

Just finished a mystery called "The War Against Miss Winter" set during WWII NY - it was Ok. I'm now reading "Girl in Translation" by Jean Kwok. So far it's really good!

There are 3 books i'm reading right now and thats: "Dark Flame" by Alyson Noel, "City of Ships" by Mary Hoffman, and "Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy" by Ally Carter. I'm mostly focused on "City of Ships" and "Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy".

I'm on to The False Friend by Myla Goldberg.

Getting ready to start reading Room and also Her Fearful Symmetry. I just received a notice that A Ship Made of Paper is ready for pick up at the library and I can't even remember why I requested, but I better put that in the lineup.

A friend bought The Girls from Ames: A Story of Women and Friendship for me at a booksale (because I'm from IA) and we're reading Bill Bryson's The Mother Tongue: English and How It Got That Way as our next work bookclub book.

I read "A Ship Made of Paper" about a year ago and really enjoyed it.

I am reading The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates as my non-fiction book and A Secret Kept as my fiction book.

Ah, you're here, Heather. Good! I haven't decided on a non-fiction book. I think I'll check to see what I have on my Kindle.

That does sound very good, Heather, but I think since I'm tackling Room and Her Fearful Symmetry, I perhaps need something lighter. Perhaps The Book of Vice: Very Naughty Things?

Can't wait to find out what you thought of both of them, Laurel. I read her Fearful Symmetry, too, but it's been awhile.

I finished The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. It was different, but I just didn't really like it. Now on to my guilty pleasure, Michael Connelly! He has a new book, Reversal, that I just got. Gonna be a great weekend!

I love Harry Bosch! I have The Reversal, too, but have yet to read Nine Dragons.

Yes, I always pick up a Harry Bosch book when I get the chance. Maybe today. The library has "The War Against Miss Winter" on hold for me, and maybe I will find something else, too. I finished "The Kitchen House," which was just okay.

Q read THE REVERSAL a couple of weekends ago and said it was the typical (wonderful!) Harry Bosch novel -- his very favorite read!! I forgot to say earlier that he's reading ROOM right now. He, like several others, found it slow at first but now says the pace has picked up as has the intensity. All in all, he's liking it. I'll read it fairly soon but I have a couple of others to get to first.

I'm really excited about another series that has a new book coming out on November 2. I love the Dennis Lehane Patrick Kenzie/Angie Gennaro books and there hasn't been one since 1999! I've preordered Moonlight Mile for my Kindle. It's going to be a tough choice between Harry and Patrick and Angie.

I just finished The Book Of Negroesand I loved it. I would definitely recommend it to others. I have just started Catch-22now. I'm currently working on a list of 12 books that have been on my shelf for a long time as TBR.
