How do you people plan for your novel?

I make charrie sheets and a setting.

I just write a ton of notes, of what it looks like, and the other stuff, like the setting, the year, what has happened, etc. as well as character sheets.

If it's fantasy or astro sci-fi, I do world development and setting in addition to charrie sheets and basic plot structure, which are the basics.

Ya... notes seem to be a common strategy. I just write which I think is why most of my novels end up plotless...

I just write i figure that i can always go back and edit so i just have my mind vomit the ideas and then work off that.
