The only book that I can think of off the top of my head that takes place in the 1920s is The House at Riverton. It's a mystery that actually goes back and forth between the 20s and the 90s. I've heard it's really good but I wouldn't know, I haven't read it. :)
I love the 1920's! I almost bought a nonfiction book about the decade at Borders a few weeks ago.Young Adult:
The Luxe series by Anna Godbersen - I haven't read it yet. I checked Luxe out of the library but accidently returned it before I read it.
Bright Young Things also by Anna Godbersen takes place in the late 20's
Of course, you have to include everything written by Fitzgerald and the other members of the Lost Generation. I think the Fitzgerald stuff especially speaks to me because a lot of it has to do with people in similar situations (economic, social, and general their place in life/maturity) to myself.Jen, do you remember the name of the non-fiction you almost bought? I adore the 1920s as well.
The House at RivertonJourney to the End of the Night (prettyy depressing!)
Gatsby's Girl
Sweeping Up Glass
Away
Loving Frank
This Side of Paradise
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: The Illuminating Diary of a Professional Lady
Just might be an obsession of mine!
Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Keep them coming!
Jen--I've been dying to read both of those books. One of my blogger buddies is going to let me borrow Bright Young Things!
Lori--Oh yes, Gatsby is at the top of my list!
Molly--WOW! I'll have to check these out. I own Loving Frank because I'm kind of obsessed with FLW.

The Maise Dobbs series are set in the late 1920's early 1930's. They are detective novels set way before the how forensic kick. They are quite interesting.
Here's a couple of non-fiction books about the 1920s and surrounding decades:Sylvia Beach And The Lost Generation
The Damned and the Beautiful: American Youth in the 1920's
Among the Bohemians: Experiments in Living 1900-1939
I haven't read these books yet but they sound interesting:Anything Goes: A Biography of the Roaring Twenties
Flapper: A Madcap Story of Sex, Style, Celebrity, and the Women Who Made America Modern
American Rose: A Nation Laid Bare: The Life and Times of Gypsy Rose Lee

I'm dying to read 'Flapper' now! Thanks for the rec! I can't wait to finish what I have going now and order this!
For YA fans -- I really liked Vixen by Jillian Larkin and just read Ingenue which is the second in the series. The second one wasn't AS good but I liked it.
The Last Flapper: A One Woman Play It's a play, not an actual novel, but it's Zelda Fitzgerald's reflections on her life, F. Scott, the jazz age, etc. It's what made me interested in the 20s. (I might be biased because I performed it in high school)
The Paris WifeThe Paris Wife is a wonderful historical fiction about Hemingway's first wife...love it!
Ashley, I haven't read it, but I have heard good things about The Chaperone. And I want to read it myself. But only after I clear out some books I already own.
