This is our December 2010 Group Read! Thanks to everyone who participated in the selection process - sounds like a fitting title for the last month of 2010. Feel free to post in this discussion thread using spoiler alerts as needed. You can post favorite quotes, thoughts, questions, etc. Happy Reading everyone!

Jaice Cooperrider (plasborgma) | 1299 comments I read this book in December 2008. :-) It is one of Koontz's poorest novels, IMO.

Really? The story sounds intriguing. I can't wait to read it!

Driftwood | 30 comments I will begin my second hand search for this one.

You couldn't find it with your first hand? ;-)

You Better! Or else! :-)

Really? I love it. I think its one of his better older ones.

Susan (aka Just My Op) (justmyop) I listened to this one in November 2008, and it is my least favorite of all the Koontz books I've read/heard. Perhaps I would have liked it more if I had read instead of listened, but I just didn't like the storyline.

FYI if anyone is interested in reading Mr. Murder as a mini-group read, I'm trying to put it together. Please post in the Mini-Group Read thread if you're interested. Jason of the Borg and I have both agreed to participate. We only need one more person - Susan? Jenna? Driftwood? Alex? Anyone?

Here's the link to the Mini-Group Read thread:

Thanks Much!

me LOL too. :-)

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 207 comments I read this not too long ago (well less than a decade) and remember it was one I liked fairly well.

It is one that contains the Paladin private security agency. :-)

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 207 comments I don't remember....but I think it's one of the books where the agency is mentioned. They are in books a couple of times (that I know of), usually as "bodyguard types" as I recall.

Driftwood | 30 comments I am into it about 200 pages and enjoying the story and wondering what will happen next. I am hooked. It is a rainy day so I will probably finish tonight. As a mom, I so feel her pain. But so curious as to how the murders happened and who dunnit.

Maicie I only gave it three stars back in August. Not a fave. But there's a great new word coined by the author (new to me anyway). Can any one guess?

Egogeist?

Maicie Close: psychogeist. Egogeist is pretty good, too.

I don't know why, but psychogeist cracks me up everytime I read it.

Driftwood | 30 comments I agree-"psychogeist" conjured up quite an image to me. and I wondered if he had used it before. I didn't remember seeing it anywhere.
So, I am on the last few pages. A little too much being dragged out, so I have scanned a few of the pages about all the scientific bull, but I did like the book. Dan Haldane makes me think of the Law and Order guy whose a little nutsy.
I don't mean to be all hearts and flowers, but I hope Melanie can find some peace. I am hoping for a happy ending. After all, it is Christmas. And when I open my front door I feel the cold.
