How did Crestmont strike you? Is it historical fiction, Young Adult, Christian Historical fiction? I’d love your feedback.

How did the Crestmont Inn itself function as a character in the book, Crestmont?

I'd definitely classify it as historical fiction with some Christian themes. Readers of both will like the book I think!

I'd classify it as all three.

I think Crestmont is more historical fiction.

Melissa Harris It feels like historical fiction to me. I can 'feel' the era.

Rene (rene13) | 3 comments I agree with Kaliki, I thought of historical when I read the book; especially since I went there during it's heyday and after. I enjoyed the placing of the grandfather's clock in the main foyer as a focal point throughout the book. I think it made a great impact on all of the characters.

Old Tim, the grandfather clock. We can talk about his fate when the others finish so we don't spoil it. Thanks, Rene for your comment.

I found the Crestmont Inn itself to be my favorite character.....the descriptions of it's beginnings and growth and the "pull" it had to it's owners, workers and guests was something you could feel.

Oh, you're making me happy. I didn't intend for the inn to be a "main" character when I wrote, but it just kept calling to me to make it more important the book progressed. I won't say more because I'm not sure you've finished yet. Would love reactions to the Epilogue.

Melissa Harris I should finish tonight, Holly. Can't wait to discuss.
