Mock Printz 2026 discussion

Is Matched the new The Hunger Games? That's how they are promoting it. What do you think?

I'll start reading this around Mid-December when I go on winter break. Has anyone read it yet?

I admit I'm only on page 30, but it seems like . The Hunger Gamesmeets The Forest of Hands and Teeth But, I'm enjoying it.

Aside from the dystopia aspect, I didn't really see this as a Hunger Games. I enjoyed learning about Cassia and the Province but I wish I knew more about Ky. We will probably learn that in the next book.

Someone said it would be a good match for The Giver by Lois Lowry and I can totally see that. It would be interesting to see if the trilogies paralleled each other.

I enjoyed this book, but don't see it as a contender. It's just too much like all the books mentioned above, and I got tired of the romance angst. I wish it had been more about Cassia figuring out what was going wrong with the society and not so many Twilighty pages of pining love. Maybe the next book will be more of an adventure as she tries to find Ky.
